Unless some sort of miracle happens, the eagles' season will be pretty much over by the end of July.  Can't see too many people wanting to join then.

I think the management have adopted Baldricks "I have a cunning plan" Idea  With no guarantee of a Premier League place being granted on application next season, we are going to out manoeuvre the likes of Poole Belle Vue, both who have shown interest in dropping down. We have this cunning plan and are going to do it by...wait for it............Relegation!!
How else can you account for 5 successive defeats ,3 at the once fortress Arlington, the choice of guests for home meeting against the Panthers. Cunning what  Wink

let me see , believe it was trevor who called in guests hansen and klindt for our missing heatleaders , and he is team manager ?! we said it last season , we say it this , nice enough bloke , as long as nuthin' needs sense and effort  Sad noticable how the team seems to fall apart under him each season ]. if BD hadn't relit the fire we would not have won the cup last year , he inspired and bullied the team . not much inspiration so far this season , but plenty of bullying ---- to the fans who DO attend . Shocked  Rolling Eyes
trevor gets skornicki , and they get ostergaard -- hmm--- how did each of them perform on their last visits to arlington? , did trevor consider that, if he had meant the other way round it must have been too late . when looking at the other team managers the problem is quite clear . Sad

If as you say it is a 'cunning plan' then they can carry on without my support. I have supported the 'Elite League' and wish to continue watching elite racing.

While I completley understand the financial and management problems until we are officially demoted to the premier league (not through deliberately finishing up last!) I expect to watch exciting competition at arlington.

I know that premier racing can be exciting but I want to see top riders and I think top riders not racing in GB have made a difference to attendance.

I am not so convinced that premier racing at eastbourne would be financially viable as I think the entrance tickets may not end up being cheaper which I would expect for lower league racing.

Bob has been very honest and outspoken and I wish him well and am sure he is extremely sad about the current situation.

Only my opinion but this is what I think Exclamation

can see your view travelator , but how many times would you not see the top riders on a saturday night .this is , and has been a problem for some seasons and only seems to increase . if lewis had qualified for his next round would we have only had three eagles in the team ? how can this be acceptable , to bspa perhaps , but  to us , NO !!!!

So am I Travelator and I was only joking about the "cunning plan". Personally  I prefer to see top class riders but over the last 4 or so seasons the number of teams in the Elite league has dwindled to an extent that  it seems we see the same faces every other week (and most of the top riders dont ride in England now) and that has become boring to some fans, others seemed to leave when Pedersen was dropped from the Eagles. The truth of the matter is we cannot financially sustain an Elite Team at present and havent without BD being prepare to run it at a loss for several seasons. We've run r/r for 3 seasons now rather than bring in replacements. We cannot go on for ever like this.

remember some years ago there was the one combined league . just one fixture home and away with each other team . almost all fans went to see each different team , only the one chance in league . glasgow , sheffield , stoke , edinburgh, long eaton  some really great matches , and no continuous repeats .think we won it , but plenty of excellent opposition . deano and david leading the way . sure many of you can remember more than i . no overseas teams or competitions taking riders away on week ends . can remember getting videos of away matches coz they were so good . Smile  Very Happy

Monday 6th July... Bob Dugard announces in The Argus that we need to sign a replacement for Floppy... "whether it can be afforded or not"...

I hear the sound of the bolt on the old stable door but the horse has already disappeared into the distance!!
