agree the offer is a good one as long as grandparents are not bringing grandchildren , so much for the family ethic . i , like many others started early , i was 8 . got hooked and had parents/ grandparents bring me regularly to plough lane , sometimes with a school friend .  that wouldnot happen now . it's getting the kids hooked that brings the family and friends in . that is how virtually all of us started . Sad  thanks for full info, shame it isn't stated clearly on vouchers .if i had brought my other half and the two kids nextdoor tomorrow i would have saved £ 2 . Rolling Eyes mind you wouldn't have had to buy any programmes . intresting to see how many now supply their own race card .

oap concession £13 .20% discount of £ 2.60 . so should cost £ 10.40 . are they really charging £ 12 ? please confirm . if so i will not attend again , as a matter of principle , until discount discontinued , and save £ 13 instead .hope all non-season ticket.pensioners will do the same . nor will i take the guests who expected to pay the correct amount . migawd , robbers and liars are everywhere it seems .  Evil or Very Mad  Question reading the voucher it is stated the 20 % discount is on ANY STANDARD TICKET .so  does this mean what i says " any " means all ,"standard " , well does a concession mean non- standard then ? but regardless this means an adult entry  will now be £12 , a saving of £3 . oap at £ 12 means a  saving of £1 . what about the childrens' admission ?
haven't thought things through again , pathetic .just when they seem to have a reasonable idea they screw up again , bit like the £ 2,000 for your old car farce . it will never work properly . Sad ran off some vouchers , may as well give them to other people who do not get concessions  Idea  Idea

Sorry Ray, but I really can't agree with you here. Sounds to me like you're cutting off your nose to spite your face.

The management are trying to promote the club through the discount vouchers and this should be applauded.

Ok... so it means that with a voucher you and I will both pay the same £12 to get in... but what's so wrong about that... we are both ending up in profit.

Why not look at it this way.... you could put your fold up chair into storage for a few weeks and in effect get free admission to the grandstand!

You know it makes sense!!

Ray, I am probably not going to make myself popular with you, and if so I apologise in advance, but...........................................you have posted enough times criticising the promotion for NOT doing
anything to promote the club, now, when they are doing something, blimey you're at it again!

In your eyes they really can't win, can they?
They may not be doing what suits YOU, but they are doing something.

And as far as kids are concerned, see my posting from Tuesday re the free entry for kids with a paying adult, another "promotion".

Cut them some slack for heavens sake!

kevin you will see i appreciate this scheme , have posted so .was suprised when david posted about the discount only on standard adult ticket . if i qualified for that i would show my appreciation  mind you means i would have to go back to work ---- so no thank on that aspect . but where as normal ticket saving is £ 3 , oap is only £ 1 . have not studied the kidzone offer , but this is probably the most vital of all --- as stated , get the kids in , then the family follow .that's how i started , as so many did . ok-- not bitching just stating financial aspects .not offended , but will be if the eagles waver tonight and tomorrow .want to see that fighting spirit back , cous and others are crossing our fingers that they pull theirs out again . Once again we have "moaners". I am sick and tired of it,  Shocked  whatever BD does there is always someone moaning because they think they have not got enough money off their entrance fee.  Shocked I would have thought that any discount is helpful. Having spoken to Floppy today he said that he considers himself lucky,  because he has seen people much worse off than him at the East Grinstead Hospital. He said he wished people would go just to see a good nights racing.  Exclamation  Wink

I did, but I standby what I said, but people are never satisfied. If BD had  team of the class of Nicki they would still grumble. Being a Saturday track presents more problems for riders, as many of them are in Poland on the Sunday. They do not like the rushing around this entails. We all love our team to win, but I am afraid injuries are becoming part and parcel of our sport. If the money is not their you cannot pay it out. I know some fans expect BD to chuck money around for riders who are sometimes asking for exorbitant payments, but he like us has to balance the books. If the fans are not careful BD could say "that is it" and walk away. I know he has threatened this before, but even he can only take so much. He cannot take losses indefinitely, his business must be he priority. Once again I would like to remind them NO BD NO SPEEDWAY AT ARLINGTON. I  apologise for using capitals.  Wink

most can be satified , and can give satisfaction to others , but it is a two way thing . communication  and consideration are usually the key . Idea  Idea this is where the supporters club could be so vital  Idea

Ray reading your post you do call the scheme pathetic, and not thought out. I applaud the voucher scheme, sure some benefit more than others thats life in general. We have vented our frustrations at the lack of promotion in the past now they have woken up to the fact the they have to attract more supporters and have started to act we should encourage. Sure they will have their successes and failures but they should be encourage to continue with and not as Aussie posted keep moan repetitouslying about some patrs that perhaps favour some more than others. Theres nothing wrong in posting costructive criticisum but to continually harp on about the same points could get a bit wearing. Early in the season when sid posted that BD had put in place new Supporters Club officers democratically of course based on the Stalin system I thought I'm not renewing my membership but as a lot of these ideas are being driven by Jane Wooler and the Supporters club I may well change my mind. Ray I don't doubt for one moment that at heart you have the love of the sport and a wish to see the Eagles flying high into the future but just give them a chance now theyve started promoting.

see you are repeating what kevin and cous have already posted, and aussie2 and sussex bulldog to an extent , so hardly original .  Rolling Eyes we all have our points of view , i am prepared to give the supporters club a chance coz BD might just listen to them .  yes we know he was instrumental in setting this up, which is why he might listen . what would you suggest , nothing else seems to have worked  Sad . have said they have made a start at promoting , better late than never , and welcomed the idea , simply said it was of no worthwhile benefit for OAPs . it will not attract them to any significant way . those saving three times as much are obviously three times as much impressed , common sense . end of , right, i have already drawn a line on this , suggest we all do , points made , opinions stated , they differ for various stated reasons . Idea
what must be looked at and considered now , as posted , is getting the kids and families in , this is the future , this is how most of us started attending speedway .you , i and most of us have posted our views on the management , and their lack of professionalism  compared to other clubs, but mainly the lack of communication and seeming concern of the paying public . at times we have seen a gleam of light , because we all want the same thing , management , riders , and supporters , but unless this is communicated and shared aussie2 could be right . this i hope is constructive . still think it strange that we tend to be shunned by those who want us to attend and help guarantee the future . also upsetting and foolish was the rudeness to fans which they have posted about by the management . if there was communication  so much of the frustration and annoyance that has built up over recent seasons could be washed away . I thought Kids were already discounted in the Family ticket of 2 adults & children for £34  although kids should under a certain age be free in my opinion. Not living in the Argus area are these promotions advertised in it,which would inpart be a form of communicating to us, be interested to know if they do.

Is this voucher just off the adult price though? do we know for sure?

I ask because when I used it this week the lady on the gate wrote adult on the ticket, if it was just a saving on that price isn't writing on each voucher pointless?

from what was posted , MrB , it seems discount of 20% was on the
£15 ticket , i thought it was on all tickets .whatever , hence my comment about discount no use fpr OAPs and children .  suggest you ask when attending next time . i will be away until the belle vue match ,the vouchers will be applicable until 4th july. will enquire as a matter of intrest and curiousity , but not pay more than £12 on 4th july . more important , maybe our injured , apart from floppy probably ,will all be  fit and riding again . that is what matters .but as posted twice already , without communication there are bound to be misunderstandings , and mistakes . this is an example of such . END OF-- i promise ! Laughing  Cool

The vouchers have now been withdrawn.  They were intended to encourage visiters to attend but it seems home fans have been using them !  Shocked

how totally pathetic . actually it could be read as only being withdrawn to away fans , but probably to all . too many of us have used them . surely the point was to attract old and new eagles fans , they either don't understand that or they are telling porkies . those who have criticised my criticisms on this theme now realise they were wrong  Razz  Sad

It has been confirmed on "the other side" that vouchers will not be accepted at all in future.
