Credit to him, he said that over the winter he was taking advice from Nicki, concentrating on his fitness, and it looks as if it is paying off.

Will this be his year?

I hope so, maybe he can step up to that elusive second heat leader role.

I had hoped to go but unfortunately my workload will not let me.

Still I have to be grateful that I have work I guess.

Good luck tonight Lewis.  Hope they have managed to fully repair your bikes and that you have recovered from the concussion you suffered on Sunday in Poland.

Excellent, this should now be the platform for a GREAT season for Lewis.

He said pre-season he had talked to Nicki, he had been training and watching his diet, and now we can all see the truth in it, the boy is turning into a man.

Having been one of the ones that criticised Lewis last season for this off track antics I have to say last night I was proud to be there supporting him, what a mature performance from the youngman. Even his victory speech was measured thanking everyone who had helped him achieve his first dream. All through the meeting he gated well, rode good lines, mind you still managed to do wheelies everytime he crossed the finishing line Laughing he was always well ahead of the opposition. In fact he looked a class ahead of Woffinden and Barker and the rest although Joe Haines impressed. Great night for Lewis in front of a big crowd, good promotion by Lakeside. Cookies looking to make it a perminant fixture.

Congratulations to Lewis on getting through to the next round of the Under 21 Championship with 11 points in todays qualifying round at Rye House.

The meeting was won by home rider Ray Mear.

Tai Woffinden also qualified.

Well done to the Brits.... specially Lewis of course.

Good to see the Brits qualifying for the next round of the under 21. At least they are showing more guts, especially Lewis, who must feel more than a trifle sore after yesterdays meeting. Hope he gets some rest before the meeting on Wednesday. He is going to have a busy week, and needs to rest as much as possible.
