If Coventry do sign him, having already signed Harris and Barker, it would leave them with around 7 points for the last 2 places.
Potentially weak at the tail end, and we know what an Achilles heel that proved Exclamation

Hope Eddie is prepared for a season of HGV driving Exclamation  Shocked  Rolling Eyes

certainly mean no place for janniro , who , bearing in mind the team strengths are lesser this coming season , would have been their third heatleader ---they consider ollie allen a better prospect , and has probably a lower average .

He ended up with 9 points from 4 rides, had a coming together in his last ride and got excluded, nicely placed up till then.

Not many places let for Eddie, now only Coventry with any real positions left would certainly make them Favourites if he went there .

that would leave them with 3 heatleaders and ollie allen .the other 3 would be very weak at the tail , hence my earlier comments that we could get 5-1s in heats 2 and  either 8 or 14 . 4-2s in several others . what points would they have left ? janniro would be missed . Cool

They also have Ben Barker who as you remember beat both Eddie and Lewis down at Poole recently.

Got today's Hailsham Gazette, and there is quite an article about Ed. For Eagles fans it is highly upsetting, if it is true as reported. BD has said "He has told us he hates riding at Eastbourne".  Shocked  Crying or Very sad I would rather not see him ride for us if that is his attitude. BD also said that he wanted to transfer him to Poole for the 2008 season, but Ed had a big dispute with their captain Bjarne Pedersen. This is a kick in the teeth for the fans who supported him last season. Reported fee BD is asking is £30,000, but if it does not materialise he could rejig the Eagles team to accommodate him. I would rather he did not sign him, we only want people who "WANT TO RIDE FOR THE EAGLES".

Aussie - I wonder how much of this is BD laying it on a bit thick?

He seemingly changes his tune every week. First he's gonna be sold, then loaned, then he can be accomodated. BD is the boss, but there are so many mixed messages.

Once again, hardly the perfect build-up to a new season!

I did say if what was reported is true. Last season many fans were saying that Ed did not want to be at Eastbourne, and rumours were that he wanted to stay at Poole, but did not because if his acrimonious relationship with Bjarne Pedersen. I think we have to read between the lines, and realise that the relationship between BD and Ed has completely broken down. As far as BD is concerned I suspect he has been hurt by Ed's attitude, and would therefore lash out verbally, as many of us might do. I expect he will be glad when the problem is solved. Surely the easiest way to sort it out is to leave the team as it is.  At least that would show loyalty to the team already picked. All this faffing around seems to me to be absurd. It makes the EB management look ridiculous.  There is life after Kennett, just as there is life after Richardson and Nicholls.  I wonder what the skipper and the team manager think of all this.  Or have they not been consulted.

I see no reason as to why bob would lie. Remember back to first meeting of last season when speaking to kev commbes ed did state that he was only helping out for the season which a few of us on here said was strange. If no club can agree a price then that is that and ed will have to sit out im afraid

It seems to me that Ed is not being that easy to deal with. Turning down poole last season peterboro this year but has put in a transfer request as he hates riding at eastbourne. Its just as well alex fergurson is not his manager cos he wouldnt put up with it.

I somehow think he won't get a good reception when he rides at Arlington later in the season.

If what is reported is true, then the sooner he goes the better.

I had hoped that the situation could have been resolved so he could have been fitted in, but not now.

Let him go, preferably for a decent fee that can be reinvested in the club.

It's one thing to say you want a year away,(again!), but comments of that nature go one step further and are a stab in the back to the promotion.

There is no place in the club for someone like that.

I haven't seen the actual article.
Apparently it's BD who says Ed hates riding here.
That might just put a different emphasis on things.......
He looked like he was enjoying himself last season, with no shortage of team riding.
I think it's fair to say in this situation that neither BD or Ed have exactly covered themselves in glory.
