he is in need of sponsorship ,. especially as he is now without the hagon backing , though bobby was trying to get him a couple of those bikes . still no news of the two prospective sponsors , one likey to be the main team sponsor . no news on meridian either .
i was told hagon guaranteed them all a minimum financial backing,[ which is why james was able to carry on ] , plus bikes[ loaned ] , and i believe tyres and other necessities for those bikes .
well that's that then . cannot keep somebody who doesn't want to stay . poole or swindon ? please don't let it be poole . eddie wanted to stay there last season , but the hagon sponorship was too good to say no to .so hagon and the national league team have gone , four of last year's team have gone , season ticket is looking too expensive . so we will probably see ed and lewis riding against eachother . wonder for which teams ?.feeling quite choked . it was starting to look really good . swindon get lewis to go with adams and the croatian youngster ?
I would like to see Lewis stay at Eastbourne ,I admit to critising him in the past for his on & off track antics but having said that in the last 6 weeks of the season he seemed to be focused and turned in some very usefull performances culminating in a KOC winners medal. Why do some people think he needs to get large track knowledge most top riders seem to be able to adapt to any track size take Adams, Crump both Pedersens as examples. Adams, you dont get many bigger tracks than Swindon but he rides Eastbourne a bit to tasty for my liking, having said that he rides it at least 4 times a year! I think Lewis should stay show us what he really is capable of and as MrB posted the only thing that has held him back in the past has been of his own making but thats history now and we move forward. _________________ A Founder Member of the Home Straight Lukas Dryml Appreciation Society!
Agree with what everyone has said but maybe Rosco,Middlo will not let him mess about!!! Having said that having given Lewis his chance theres no way i would want him to leave eastbourne, just put make him live with any member of the Dugard family and he will be ok in no time!!!!
I maybe in the minority, but if a rider does not want to ride for the club, then let him go. If he stayed, how do we know he will give of his best. I know he is young, but he does owe BD something. After all he was the one that kept him at the club after Hagon wanted him out. I am afraid the word "loyalty" has no meaning nowadays. If he goes there must be other riders available. _________________ Supporting the Eagles through the good times as well as the bad

I agree with you Aussie, but loyalty goes both ways take Nicki as an instance, when push comes to shove in this sport I'm afraid loyalty counts for nothing. As for Lewis if he really wants out then let him go, its no good having an unhappy team member. I for one would have ditched him at the height of his early seasons problems but the club,or rather Bob stood by him and towards the end of the season we began to see Lewis start fulfilling his undoubted potential and it appeared that management had made the right decision. It would be good to see him line up for us, but if hes not fully committed to us then unfortunately we might as well loan him out. _________________ A Founder Member of the Home Straight Lukas Dryml Appreciation Society!
If he don't want to ride here then I agree, let him go. We need a team that sticks together this season, not like last. Most of the arguements seemed to involve Lewis. Problem he has is that the two clubs being mentioned will won't stand for his C*** like we did. _________________ Palace & Eastbourne, a perfect pair of eagles

I agree with Bazra, loan him out and get a fee back from the club, then BD will not be that much out of pocket as he has to pay a loan fee for Davey. Lewis might find out that the grass is not greener on the other side. We need team members to get on and help each other out when things do not go as planned. We know that tempers can get frayed, but we do not need what happened last season to happen next year. _________________ Supporting the Eagles through the good times as well as the bad
I have just been on the "official site", and it states that Lewis is the second rider to sign for the Eagles. So what has happened to make him change his mind. He seemed so adamant that he was going to leave. I wait with baited breath to see if this is true. _________________ Supporting the Eagles through the good times as well as the bad

If you google bournemouth daily echo and look at wednesdays' edition, the 10th, in the sports section you will see a photo of young master Bridger gleefully extolling the fact that BD has agreed to pay him megabucks to sign.
Apparently Matt Ford and Rossiter told him to get the offer in writing as it was beyond what they could afford to offer him
And we were informed of Eddies' transfer request the day after we heard Bridger was back on board....................
EASTBOURNE rider Lewis Bridger admits he was on the verge of joining Pirates, until he was swayed by a late bid to keep him at Arlington.
The 19-year-old had a rough season with his boyhood club.
He was convicted of assault in May after being involved in an attack on a Japanese student on December 12, 2007, and was ordered to pay a £1,500 fine plus £500 compensation.
Bridger then came close to losing his place at Arlington in August after exchanging gestures with travelling Ipswich fans before having a blazing row with then Eagles skipper Lee Richardson in the pits.
With a cloud hanging over him and Bridger keen to race on bigger tracks, the teenager claims he was offered deals by Poole Castle Cover and Swindon.
And prior to being persuaded to stay at Arlington by promoter Bob Dugard, the former Weymouth rider admits he was leaning towards a return to Dorset.
He said: “Poole and Swindon came in for me and I was more inclined towards going to Poole than Swindon.
“Bob knew what Pirates were going to offer me and it was a big option.
“But when they heard Bob’s offer, both clubs turned around and said ‘I’d get that in writing because that’s a great deal. We can’t offer you anywhere near as much’.
“It was a bigger amount of money, I’m the only Brit in the team and I’ll be well helped at Arlington.
“To be fair, Poole did do me a really good deal and were offering to help me out with two chassis.
“There was no doubt about it, though, I had to go back to Eastbourne.”
Poole promoter Matt Ford was unavailable for comment over Bridger’s claims of a possible move to the Pirates.
But one factor Bridger claims made him somewhat hesitant over joining the club was his rough rapport with some of the fans at Wimborne Road.
While he was certain he would get a warm welcome from the majority, the Eagle admits he is not everybody’s cup of tea.
He added: “I know I’d get a little bit of grief because I’m not massively liked by some of the Pirates fans.
“They have always slated me on the forums and if I had gone there, I’d have been intrigued to see how they reacted when I was knocking in big scores for them every week.
“Probably three quarters would love to see me there but the rest would probably hate it.
“I’m not bothered about that anyway – I’m just there to go racing and do my job, and I’m sure there are fans at Eastbourne who don’t like me.
“When it comes to forums, there are probably a maximum of 15 people slating me and the other supporters are absolutely fine.
so mega outlay for lewis and russian --- what happened to cutting expenditure . maybe the 1,ooo a meeting won't cover it now . wonder how eddie feels now , lewis swallowed his pride and is grateful to be back in the fold . we still only have one heatleader , would BD take him back like lewis , and replace the russian . could be made to eat my words , along with others , if russian is as good as bobby thinks . but so pleased about our reserve pairing .
If Russia is such a good place to race, and pays so well, why does this Russian want out. Has he any recent form ? And why is he being offered so much by Mr BD. I dont see Mr BD as a risktaker, nor as a man to dispense unnecessary largesse, so I presume there is some cunning plan afoot.. Really hope so, as The Giza was conspicuous by his absence in the 07 season. Guess its all smoke and mirrors....
Ray, read the aticle, then read between the lines.
Bridger read BDs' earlier comments, got what he wanted.
I should think Eddie is between a rock and a hard place right now.
Swallow your pride, or find yourself like Andy Smith a few years ago, frozen out of racing over here
