I have just returned from a week on Isle of Wight, so I have only just read all the comments regarding the last week and Lewis. I went to Jason Bunyan's Testimonial and after having read Lewis' comments regarding how he beat Mads he appeared not to mention how he was easily beaten by both Jason Doyle and Jordan Frampton! There was certainly no team riding between him and Ed. Ed was flying and passed Lewis easily on several occasions. Before the match the riders were mixing with the crowd and playing with children on a bouncy castle, gladiator joust and other side shows. Lewis stood out as not being part of the group and the other riders did not appear that interested in anything he was doing or saying! (This is just my observation).
like in the pits at home i suppose . obviously scott and lee have no time for him . then neither did david and nicki last season . he will not listen to them either and always knows best it appears .
I have a lot of time for Lewis Bridger. Okay, so I know he's done some irresponsible things over the last 12 months, and I don't condone it, but he's also done some good things too.
I honestly believe Lewis isn't in the best company or surroundings, and that's not knocking Eastbourne one bit, but more his advisors, and perhaps one or two of his team mates (well, no-one gets on with everybody.) There are great reports of Lewis from Lakeside, and not just for his racing - for his time with fans and work in the pits as well.
On the receiving end of a 5-1 at Lakeside, Lewis fell off and could have stayed on track for the re-run. He didn't - he got up and moved his bike to the centre green. He's also given some very level headed interviews that I've seen. He's shown there IS some maturity there, and because of that I'm not prepared to write him off as a lost cause.
And I know I'm in the minority here, but I've never been one to take the majority view, and I'm not afraid to say what I think. And he's a very exciting rider to watch. _________________ She will always carry on. Something is lost, something is found. They will keep on speaking her name. ok schumi , but i know about the problems with nicki and david from source , scott and lee problems are a matter of record . think with martin hagon too . but understand bobby dugard is in his corner .

Bobby Dugard might be in his corner now, but if he keeps misbehaving and underperforming, how much longer will he back him. _________________ Supporting the Eagles through the good times as well as the bad

As one who has criticised him for this off track antics I would say that, true he gives level headed interviews. For example his interview in the Speedway Star but unfortunately he doesnt live up to them. I would agree that he can be a very exciting rider, he has the opportunity to a good rider and some like myself have been frustrated to say the least to see him at times waste that talent. True he shouldnt be written off as a lost cause, far from it, I believe that he should be loaned out to further his career more than anything else. I think hes got in a comfort zone at Eastbourne and needs a fresh challenge. I dont think you are in the minority I think the majority of us would only be to pleased to see a fully focused Lewis produce the form we know he's capable of, and no way is he solely responsible for our teams lack of ambition at present. _________________ A Founder Member of the Home Straight Lukas Dryml Appreciation Society!
I've been saying for ages now that although Lewis must take his share of the blame, what he needs at this stage of his career is firm handling and leadership.
This season that has been patently missing from The Eagles set up.
Unless we change the management structure for next season then I agree that Lewis would be better off elsewhere, under the guidance of someone like John Cook, Allan Rossiter or Neil Middleditch.

Thing is, those interviews are from the heart, not some spur of the moment frustration he's taking out on Ipswich fans/Lee Richardson/whoever. I think the maturity is there, but hidden behind a lot of problems, and not just his.
I am also trying to get hold of Lewis. I've tried through his website, but no luck. So if anyone has an email address, or can put him on to me I'd be really grateful. _________________ She will always carry on. Something is lost, something is found. well the news lewis was happy guesting for spanners , getting on with them , welcomed by them , scoring more points for them than he has for eagles at their track must raise some questions ? answers on a post card please ! forget the " card" just post !

The club hold his contract so..., send him to Rye House, under the guidance of Len Silver.
A man who knows more about speedway than most, and won't suffer "Prima Donnas".
Also might make Lewis regret his sneering comment regarding the Premier League, he might just get a rude surprise
Im afraid most people, including Mr Hagon, miss the point. The package basically is unsaleable. I doubt if you could give it away. If Mildenhall, who must be desperate for results, said no, then why on earth should anyone like Len Silver stick his neck out. Hence the embarassing U turn by Mr Hagon when he found out no one wanted his product. Hubris.
Didn't like the sound of Lewis' interview today. Reading between the lines sounds like he won't be here next year. The day Lewis leaves is a sad day for Easrbourne speedway! and the day any rider thinks he can improve himself by going to Lakeside _________________ Check out my Pic's site. Click on WWW below...

Just checked out Lewis' website and he does seem pretty determined to secure a move away for 2009.
It says that he will be entering talks with Bob D who wants to build the team around him and Eddie, but that Lewis feels he needs a temporary move away from Arlington for the good of his career and that he hoping to persuade Bob D to let go for a season or so.

Let's hope Bob can be at his persuasive best.
Looks like Bob has persuaded him to stay.
Let's hope Lewis matures this year and puts a couple of points on his average, he's capable of doing so.
If we get the Lewis of the latter part of last season rather than the Lewis of the earlier part of the season, we're on a real winner and I can see him adding 3 points to his average.
