Caught the last few heats on Sky, excellent result and everyone did their bit.
Hope Bob remembers Hurry at Christmas, an inspired choice of guest in the last two meetings and he did not let us down, considering what the outcome could be if he had another bad crash and injured his arm again the guy has real guts.
As for Haris' comment that he was "nowhere near Cameron", just shows that good rider though he may be, he really is lacking in the brain cells department
just got home from family birthday party , what great news . kling was a klingon , from outer space [ remember the EAGLE comic and dan dare . the good guys win . ] bees had fitness problems too , but we were decimated . brilliant , will watch the recording in the morning . delighted .the real eagles and guests turned up .
Pity the fans didnt. _________________ A Founder Member of the Home Straight Lukas Dryml Appreciation Society!
Just an interesting point, a post on BSF made the comment that when Bridger was being interviewed he made the comment that the team did not want to be in a relegation play-off "with the take-over looming".
I have to say that recently Ive become disenchanted with Ricky Kling recent performances, but last night I have to admit he stepped up to the mark and showed the form he was producing up to the mid season mark. I thought his 5-1 with Paul Hurry in heat 2 really gave the team a lift. After a 1-5 in the first heat I thought "god, lakeside revisited" but from heat 2 onwards we went from strength to strength. Good performance by all the team makes you wonder why we only produce that form every other meeting. Nice to see Eddie and Lewis showing good sportsmanship to each other at the end of each heat when they competed against one another personally I just enjoyed it when Eddie got beat. Enjoyable night, pity the fans didn't turn out to watch it live theres nothing like the smell of victory and sky cant give you that you have to be there for that. _________________ A Founder Member of the Home Straight Lukas Dryml Appreciation Society!
Couldn't agree more GazzaH. The SKY coverage was completely one-sided and biased towards Coventry (especially the very scary Nigel Pearson). The graphics were wrong - how many times was Gustaffsson shown?, the race number was often wrong, no mention of rider replacement etc. It was a production shambles.
As for Mr ('Definitely') Harris and his phone-wrecking manager, could they not see the clear nudge of Cameron. I would certainly expect better of Oakes. Harris's comments about Lewis were right out of order - perhaps he might want to look at his own gating before criticising others riding.
I'm not surprised that the crowd was so low after what's (Watt's?) being going on recently - what does the promotion/management expect? I could have gone but decided against it but at least now I'm up for the last match which wasn't the case before yesterday.
I could not get there last night but I have just watched it and I too agree that the commentary was biased toward Coventry. Thank goodness the ref wasn't.
Yes I shall be there on 19th. I always intended to be anyway.
with all these posts i am looking forward to watch recording . i hit the mute button most of the time , when at meeting there is no gabbling fool who gets so much wrong , and constantly repeats himself . i am not intrested in those opinions either , have to respect a person before that happens . ontop of this the ex-riders involved , mainly louis and tatum are total bores . the one and only floppy is the one for the job , now he is an entertainer , and gets his facts right .
as for attendance , not suprised , recent form , three of team out , non-weekend match , and on sky . not suprised at all .
I hope all the doubters are eating humble pie. The replacements for Lukas and Daniel worked. I am going to watch the replay on Sky at lunchtime and see what the one-sided comments are. I think Coventry thought they would come to Arlington and steam roller us. The team manager seemed to be making some strange replacements. I was talking to a few of the Coventry supporters, and they said that Sitera should have been kept. The reserves were certainly very very poor. This was where we really won the match. It just shows what the team can do. though Davey still seems to be struggling. The reports that Ricky Kling was ill for the last couple of weeks, seems to be true. I do not think that Lukas and Daniel would have done any better, Simon certainly would have scored as many as his replacement rides, if not a few more. A thoroughly enjoyable evening, and wonderful to see Eagles supporters grinning with delight again. Lets hope the team spirit and determination will prevail against Ipswich, this being our last match. We MUST get our revenge against them. _________________ Supporting the Eagles through the good times as well as the bad
Despite what it says in The Argus.... with Poole taking on Belle Vue later this week, whatever the result Im pretty sure that one of them wont be able to catch us.... so we aint gonna finish bottom.
Some interesting comments from Lewis regarding next year.
And good to hear Cameron's honest assessment of his below par season. In my book that should win him a place should we survive into next season.
I agree that Nigel Pearson's comments were biased. It seems that he wanted Coventry to win. I was absolutely disgusted with Rory Schlein's remarks, that "next time he would run into him". This is not the kind of sportsmanship I expect from a top rider. Also agree that Chris Harris remarks are not what I expect from him. I can understand them being disappointed that they did not collect any points, but it was a collective effort of the team, the reserves not doing anything. They scored 3 against the Eagles reserves of 14 points. I disagree with nug, Paul Hurry did his job at reserve 7 paid 8. His points made the difference between winning and losing. It seems that you cannot please some of the supporters. Saw that Sam Ermolenko was in Coventry's corner, and somebody apparently overheard him say "that it was a flat meeting". Sour grapes because Coventry did not win. _________________ Supporting the Eagles through the good times as well as the bad
If the reserves score 7 every week I think you'd be happy
Very true. They come in on a 3 average so to score 7 is excellent value.
Well if you add to the fact that at Lakeside Hurry had 6 rides and last night only 4 rides I think I will stand by what I said Nug _________________ A Founder Member of the Home Straight Lukas Dryml Appreciation Society!
A good performance at last. But Because of sky tv we were robbed of a victory parade on monday.
it was announced over the pa that no parade was allowed,
Just how much power do they hold over eastbourne?? _________________ Member of the Home straight LUKAS DRYML LUKAS APPRECIATION SOCIETY.

At what point have i said that im not happy, all i said was "i delt if we will see the same Hurry going around arlington that we see at lakeside" did we see hurry win 4 races, beat there number 1 and number 5 at lakeside? Yes we did. Did we see Hurry beat there number 1 and 5 lastnight? No we didnt, he picked up a win in the reserve race beat Barker into 3rd in an other and all other points were taken when racing vs Frampton who scored 0 all night. So my take on things are That we didnt see the same Hurry last night as on friday night.
