Ray, I've kept quiet over this description of Trevor, but enough is enough.

I think we are all agreed that perhaps he is not the most adept team manager in the league, BUT he can only work with what he has got.
At the end of the day there are 7, or on occasion 6, riders in the team, THEY are the ones who have to go out there and get the points on the board.

As far as Trevor is concerned he is a thoroughly decent person.
He is also 'Eastbourne' through and through.
He joined the team as a youngster back in the early 1970s', was a thoroughly dependable rider for the club, the sort of rider we would give our eye teeth to have in the team right now, as a matter of fact!
A couple of seasons ago he gave up a well paid job to come back to this club as team manager, probably taking a big financial hit to do so, so that shows his commitment.

Criticise by all means, but please, do not include items which can be construed as personal abuse, that is totally uncalled for.

As I said, enough is enough.

kevin , david . my critisism is of the team manager not the person , as i have posted several times before . think you will see many others feel the same . have chatted many times in the past , he is a thoroughly decent bloke , but he simply does not have what is required for the job as team manager , and is part , but only part , of yet another poor season .
we are allowed our opinions on this site , but it would seem you have misinterperated mine .note the faces i have often added to my posts , others too . Smile  Rolling Eyes

IM sorry but im going to have to stick up for Ray on the ray's friend topic.England manager gets called turniphead.
joey barton gets called a baffoon, john prescott gets called two jags,i could go on and on,its just figure of speech.it wouldnt bother me in the slightest being called that,i would take it as a pinch of salt, its part and parcel of the job.Once again i get sooooooooo annoyed when people come on and say its name calling,if ray said"trevor is acting like a ray's friend to the eastbourne management"would people say thats wrong.come on we all know trev is a top bloke and eastbourne through and through but to say Ray is name calling is an offence in its own right.

Much as I understand your point of view Kevin I have in the past heard you call the referee far worse Wink

All this stuff seems a bit of a waste of time.  The thread is Lakeside v Eagles.  Lakeside look strong. Eagles do not have Gustaffson.  But maybe they will "do a Coventry" again........

Well if I am in the minority I will crawl back in my kennel but I have to say that I do not like it.

To be honest I don’t feel comfortable with some of the name calling on here, nobody on this site is against criticism of any kind to anybody but some of the name calling towards a few people within the club is getting a bit much.

Say what you wish I think, but leave the playground stuff towards our own to one side.

The comments aimed at Trevor Geer were covered 6 weeks ago by me on the Eagles v Hammers 25th July thread.

Seems nothing changes.

Trevor Geer is a nice guy and is fully commited to Eastbourne and  cant argue that fact, but as a speedway manager and one that has to make tactical changes then he is useless and i dont think anyone could argue against that. Now, it may not be due to him it may be all down to the man at top of the pile (mr dugard) why is Mr Geer still there? Is he the only man still there helping out cos he wont stand up to Bob, Every one else has seemed to walk out but not Mr Geer

I have kept quiet about some of the comments, but at times it has made me very angry.  Sad If I had said what I really wanted to I would probably have been banned. Constructive critisism is fine, but some of the name calling is not. TG may not be everybody's cup of team, but at least he has remained loyal. We do not know what constraints have been put on TG about who he could or could not sign. I think it is about time it stopped and let's support the Eagles, even if we have not had the season we wished we could have had. Wink

I can agree with most points nug I think tactically Trevor leaves a lot to be desired, He doesnt seem to me to be a man that would give someone a real wellie up the backside if its required, However he does appear to have integrity and is loyal to club and if Dugard is true to form probably works for nothing.I'm all for a bit of humour after all the sport is supposed to be entertaining but the name calling has probably now over stepped the mark and by continually repeating has become boring. To tell you the truth if BD said he would guarantee speedway at Eastbourne next season on condition Trevor managed the team we'd bite his hand off  Wink

With two of our in form riders out I've now decided to give it a miss. Who knows which team will turn up, the poor home team or the Coventry away team, I hope to be regreating my choice tomorrow night Rolling Eyes

It's a shorter journey for me than to Arlington, but  wild horses would not drag me to Lakeside. I went there a few times some years ago.  Reminded me of a few army camps I have been in ( many years ago!).  All it needed was goons with machine guns.  Mind you, I am told the nosh is better than at Arlington, but that would not be difficult to achieve. However, if, sadly, EB packed up  at the end of the season, I would not go to Lakeside.  Would have to make do with my occasional visits to Workington when on holiday in the Lakes.  Hmm, this post is a bit of a ramble. Sorry folks!
