Friday should be interesting, though whether I shall go or not I havent decided yet.  Friday is not a good night for me. Somewhere I saw an interesting comment that, if you could not finish in the top flight, you would be best off aiming for bottom spot.  Reason? The extra play off meetings should attract good crowds.  So is Poole aiming for bottom spot.  Middlo may have a cunning plan!!  Anyone got any thoughts on this?

So where do you think the money comes from to help pay the riders who I'm sure we'd all agree "are still worth it"?
And then they wonder why its likely to fold Rolling Eyes we have to support the team right to the end.
I agree with both COUS and Parker. I know the expectations at the beginning of the season were that we might get to the play-offs. As my motto says "supporting the Eagles through the good times as well as the bad". Both my husband and I have not missed a meeting, and we will attend all the remaining ones. In fairness to him, he was under orders from higher up the food chain regarding that unfortunate sequence of engine failures and retirements Exclamation  Wink

oh well that's ok then kevin , and peppapig might fly .will always remember that incident , firstly denied by middlo , the admitted .
the crowd reaction that evening had to be witnessed to be believed .
but he is still one of the best four team managers in the elite . still suprising how they have failed in so many matches this season , especially since signing andersen  Shocked  Surprised  Smile

Good on you Aussie Wink  expectations by most( other than fans )at the beginning of the season was that we would be the wooden spoonists. I think with good crowds behind the team in those last few home matches we can avoid that

According to Poole's site Rory Schlein is guesting for Hans Andersen on Friday. Let's hope our seven have got rockets up their backsides for Friday. We will need them to get out of the gate, otherwise it will tough, like last Saturday. We must win, otherwise we could be in danger of dropping down the table. I do hope as many supporters as possible will attend. I know it is difficult if you work, but when I worked I used to work my lunch hour so I could get off earlier. Wink

During this thread we've had postings suggesting:

1. Eagles are deliberately trying to finish bottom as a way of gaining Premier League entry for next year.

2. Poole are deliberately trying to finish bottom to get themselves a bumper attendance for the relegation play-off meeting.

This could be the first "After you Claude" meeting in speedway history Wink  Laughing  Exclamation

The weather forecast is a bit dodgy so could someone down there in Eastie let us know how it looks come mid afternoon.

Providing the weather is ok I'm hoping to leave work at about 4.30 so an update just before then would be much appreciated.

Any news on line-ups yet?

According to the Poole site, Rory Schlein in for Hans Andersen, Len Silver replaces Ben Wilson and Leon Madsen makes his Arlington debut. Presume the rest of the teams is Holder, Screen, Pedersen, and one other. Cannot keep up with the team changes. Rolling Eyes  We must take the points from this match, keep the Pirates on ther bottom. Swindon beat Ipswich last night, so a win will put us above them. Cannot afford to lose anymore home matches. So out of the gate as though you have got rockets in your machines, and let's pile on the agony for the Pirates. Wink  Wink

I know thare are rumours that Poole want to finish bottom, but bringing in LEN Silver is making it all a bit obvious.

Perhaps it's his son Andrew (who'se no spring chicken himself!) that The Prates are tracking at reserve.

Sorry to tease Aussie2... but the thought of Len negotiating the bends at Arlington on his zimmer frame did make me smile....

Mind you... it might give Ricky the chance to win a point or two Wink  Wink

Weather is Eastbourne - I am approx 4 miles from the stadium Windy slightly cloudy - white clouds not grey ones! We had a brief shower this morning at 9 but nothing since. What time will you be leaving COUS? Can give you an update before you leave if you want?

Hi Sophies Mate....

Im in Middlesex and it's also been ok here this morning.

I'll be leaving at about 4.30 to face the perils of the M25.... hopefully 3 hours should be enough.

So an update at about 4 or 4.15 would be great.

Many thanks,

Kevin.

Yes Stefan Anderssen replaced him after his last ride at Coventry.
Would have liked to have seen him.
