I know that with Trevor in charge there is little chance of it happening but I'd like to suggest a change in the line-up for this fixture as follows:

1. Lewis
2. Lukas
3. Simon
4. Cameron
5. Davey
6. Ricky
7. Daniel

I think this makes much better use of the resources we have available to us and would give us a better chance of making those Pirates walk the plank!! Wink

I'd go with Simon at 2 and Lukas at 3 but I fear another loss could be on the cards here unless a few riders buck thier ideas up. Plus PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can somebody install into the riders we want to see some team riding!

see my post on wolves home defeat . think trevor must pay BD , what other possibility is there ?! we haven't had a team manager since cook left , we've had trevor and we have made it abundantly clear this is one of the reasons eagles are doing badly and attendances are down  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes
what idiot has it arranged for friday , which is not a bank holiday .many others , including me cannot or willnot take on the journey during the week . i couldnot take another season with BD and trevor even if they had stayed . they have destroyed what was eastbourne speedway . Sad

Calm down there Ray....

I agree that some of their methods are somewhat "unorthodox" and Trevor is hopeless as team manager, but without Bob and the Dugard family as a whole, Eastbourne Speedway would probably have died a death a long time ago.

A Friday evening aint ideal for me.... but I'm going to do my best to get there.... it's only a 2 hour drive after all.... and if the worst comes to the worst it could be one of only 3 meetings left at Arlington.

Just to add a little spice to the occassion.... I wouldn't be suprised if Hans Anderson is absent at the GP.... and who could be the best option for them as a guest.... perhaps a certain E.Kennett!!!

Well I am another who cannot make Friday evenings. In fact I can only make Saturdays so I will have to miss this one unfortunately.

Agree Davey should be at 5 though.

See Hans is missing tonights meeting due to Illness and they have booked Davy Watt as a guest. Have to agree that I don't expect Hans will be there on Friday should imagine he will be practising if he's fit. I have been trying to find out if this match has always been in for this date or if its one of the re-arranged ones does anyone else know if this is one?

this friday thing confused me at first , it is the Good Friday , a bank holiday , we race home and away against pirates . as asked , who 's brainchild is this friday .
agree other post about dugard family being responsible for eastbourne speedway existing , which is why it is so hard to bear that one of them is now ruining it . without professional promoters , sponsors ,  management, and caring nothing about the paying public no sport can last .

Probably the BSPA, all league matches have to be finished by a certain date. Without BD there would have been no speedway at Arlington this year, perhaps that may have been preferred by some "supporters". Shocked  Hope Davy Watt is fit riding for Poole at tonight's meeting. He had a bad back spasm after his first ride last Saturday, the doctor wanted to pull him out of the meeting, but he said No. I wonder how many of us would have taken the easy way out. Question We are lucky as my husband and I only live a few minutes away, so we will go. I know some people who work may not be able to make it,  let's hope those that can will, especially those that no longer work. Rolling Eyes  Wink

I really hope none of you take offence at this.... but I'm just a little confused as to why there are those of you who say you can't or wont come to this meeting just because its on a Friday.

Why?

As a one off it surely can't be that difficult for you to fit into what must be extremely hectic schedules!

I work full time in Middlesex but will be trying to sneak off about 30 minutes early on Friday to give me time to make the 2 hour drive down to Arlington.

If it was every week obviously I couldn't do it, but once in a blue moon aint too much of a hassle.

Im sure that if you all really wanted to come you'd find a way.

I have to come to Eastbourne every Saturday on business. To come on a Friday as well would mean that I would not get my work done and I could not pay my [ massive ] mortgage.  Now if I were to win the lottery  Laughing

Just picking up an old programme dated April 18th v Lakeside the meeting on Friday 28th August is listed there.

So where do you think the money comes from to help pay the riders who I'm sure we'd all agree "are still worth it"?

And then they wonder why its likely to fold Rolling Eyes we have to support the team right to the end.

I think we're saying the same thing parker.....

And if we could get decent attendances for the last few meetings it might just help to convince any possible new promoters that the potential is there....

Well I shall be there for all Saturday matches. I have only missed one and that was when I was carrying swine flu.  So it looks like one more for me on 15th September.

i do support the team , hence my annual pressies to them which have entailed time , effort and expense . BD will still pay them , he , like all of us has faults , but he is honest and almost too straight forward . most of you have expressed a common opinion on events and circumstances . intend to be there for the ippo match , but i am a weekend attendee only , as are many others .we all know things will have to change , we await now to see what these changes are .
remember some of us have sought to contribute more , but these attempts have been blocked .
enjoy friday , and of course we all want a victory  Cool

With the result at Belle Vue last night this has now become a crucial relegation battle.

We are now only 5 points above both the newly strengthened Aces and Poole.

A 3 point win and we'd just about be safe.....

But a defeat, specially a heavy one, and we'd be in big trouble.

well if we lose anymore home matches what do we deserve ? could it be " a cunning plan " with trevor taking the place of baldric , to get us into premier , as this is the only way for an elite team to gain entry into the premier next season  Idea  Question  not really ," calm down dear , it is only a commercial ". how can someone looking like that have the name " winner " Smile  Question
it is suprising though with all that re-strenghtening poole are performing so badly . has middlo become a poor team-manager too ?think the morale and confidence must be very low . we expect to beat them , coventry will be a problem , and ippo, even before they re-built their team , won at arlington . could we really lose six or more times at home in one season ? Rolling Eyes  Question
