Eastbourne Eagles tonight called off the chase for Polish GP rider Grzegorz Walasek.

They have now opened talks with vastly experienced Swede Mikael Max after their bid to hire Walasek for the rest of the season hit a late hitch.

The Arlington outfit had agreed personal terms with Walasek, who turns 33 next month.

But, after further consultation with his Polish track Zielona Gora, they were unable to guarantee his services for enough meetings to make the move worthwhile.

Eagles are scouring the rider market for a signing to replace the injured David Norris.

Max, 35, originally turned them down but is now interested after his Swedish track Ikaros Smederna pulled out of the Elitserien.
MrB

Good! TBH I've never rated him and felt his signing was just for the sake of a signing. I always felt Max would be the best option by far (and probably more committed!). Everything crossed we can sign him and finally get some positive news for the Eagles fans.
ray

also he would not have been available at home to lakeside . as lukas and simon will miss that meeting too , we would be 3 eagles short again as against peterboro .so this time will there be suitable guests as to that wolves pair were ?! .totally agree with you MrB .

Theres always some balls up when we try to sign riders think we'd cross the t's and dot the i's before announcing we'd sign someone. Thought it to good to be true when I read the article and it said "waiting for Walaseks manager to rubber stamp the deal" still thought they had to get one signing right.  Laughing

I suppose its because the BSPA run Elite League is Mickey Mouse in comparison Wink  The good news is we are revising our wanted list and in a week or so we will commence talks with Michael Max failing that is hoped that by the end of August talks with Martin Vaculik will be well in an advanced state with a possible signing by the end of September until then we will operate R/R Laughing  Laughing  Laughing
Personally I think this is just a ploy to sell more Argus's particularly as the stadium is shut for a few weeks and circulation must be dropping. Wink

Here we go again, it is becoming a farce. Seems similar  to someone who has borrowed money and is always promising that they will have the money next week but when next week arrives something else has cropped up! It reminds me of Spurs a few years ago never getting their targets and in the end they became a laughing stock with the other teams supporters.
Is there any recent projected signing that has actually arrived and stayed at Eastbourne? All the other clubs tend to keep quiet until they have made the signings.  Iwould prefer it if the Eastbourne promotion did the same.
ray

totally agree mally , we are led on a helter skelter ride , and not suprisingly we take news from the management like a bag of crisps ---- with a pinch of salt !!
ComeOnYouSpurs

I agree with and applaud the cynicism shown by you all....

It's a joke... and I'm just about fed up with being treated like an idiot...

Were we ever really chasing Walasek?

If so.... wouldn't his availability have been just about the first thing to be checked?.... certainly before terms were (apparently) agreed!!

What's the point in wasting 5 weeks waiting for an answer when the guy aint gonna be available anyway?

Im struggling to understand how 2 blokes who've been involved in the sport for decades could be so incompetent and therefore I have to conclude that maybe someone has been less than candid with us.

And now.... are we really "in talks" with Mikael Max?

Come on Bob/Trevor.... remember the boy who cried Wolf....

If we don't have a new signing in place by the time of our next meeting at Belle Vue on 20th July then as far as I'm concerned the whole lot of em can go take a jump.

As I say.... I've had more than enough of being taken for a ride.

This could be a really sad way for the Dugard era to end at Arlington.

At times it's been glorious but unfortunately it's ending as a shambles.

Rye House here I come......
ray

COUS , i hope sincerely to see rye house next season --- at arlington in the premier league . understand and agree with you , we all re-act differently and have our own hopes and despairs ,  i am sure many disagree with me , but we want our eagles to continue . we have that in common at least .i too often " go off on one" , we all have different tolerance levels and opinions , but as i have said , we all want the same thing in the end . have to admire the stoicism of so many of you . may our dreams come true .  we deserve it after these last three seasons . the thought of martin contiuing the dugard line is truly inspiring --- please let this at least be true .
ComeOnYouSpurs

Ok ray..... I'm ready for you (or anyone else) to convince me why I should keep coming back for more of the same old tosh.... at (I might add) a cost of over £50 a meeting.... (I'd save about £15 a go at Rye House).

What were we told at the beginning of the season....?

"We've learnt the lessons of last year and wont be repeating the same mistakes again".....

What's been the reality....

Exactly the same dithering.... exactly the same inactivity.... exactly the same incompetence.... exactly the same hope then disappointment.... exactly the same good start fizzling out to nothing.... exactly the same unfulfilled promises.... exactly the same months of R/R.... exactly the same uninspiring team management....etc etc etc.... as last year.

Now.... if Mikael Max (or a comparable alternative) is in the team by Belle Vue on 20th July fair enough..... although I'd still want to know why it took 10 weeks.

But, from recent experience, would you really say that the chances of that happening are any better than 50/50?

This Walasek nonsense is just about the last straw.
ray

i know COUS  , feel the same , maybe you keep going back , i and others i won't name , haven't .last time 16th may v wolves .mind you i couldnt come in june coz of holiday and the heart operation my wife had to have out there . speedway is trivial compared to her .but i didnot want to go for all the reasons you said anyway . out of the house for almost six hours , all that travelling for what ?! there hasn't been a full or proper eagles team since before i stopped . i won't travel and pay to see second rate guests . do hope to go to ipswich match to see various friends again , but this depends on the afore mentioned reasons .
still hope for what i wrote in my earlier post though .
what a condemnation from Meridian . says it all . now poole will get special permission to sign boxall , though his true average is too high .enough !!!
GazzaH

Guys... just a wee history lesson. Those of you who were there for the season that was 1983 will know what I am on about... the non show of Kelly Moran and Ron Preston... remember that? That was a season of guest after guest and rider replacements..... oh and crap reserves too. But Between Woodsy and Esky made the season worthwhile. I am not saying what happened was right but too have a guest lined up for your No 1 for a whole season was at best cack too.

The fact of the matter is... we are not in new terroritory here as far a getting suitable riders in place quickly. All I can say is that since then, there has certainly been more highs than lows at Arlington...... and one thing is for sure where Bobs concerned theres always a lot of talking points and never a dull moment. Dont suppose Nano Rhigetto is still available is he??

We will win the league next year .... winks and taps nose in an old sage fashion!!
ComeOnYouSpurs

Yes GazzaH.... I was there in 1983.... and just as a matter of accuracy.... Woodsy was our no.1 that year, Esky rode at no.3, (and both were terrific) and we had special dispensation for a guest at no.5 only because the yanks let us down at the last minute.

But no matter how bad that season was results wise I always had the feeling that everyone connected with the club was giving 110% to make the absolute best of a rotten situation.

That's all I'm asking for.... everyone to give it their all.... but I think it's patently obvious that we haven't been getting it for the last 3 seasons.

And by the way.... anyone notice that 10 points from Troy Batchelor inspired Ipswich to a last heat decider at Coventry tonight.

Why didn't we try to get Troy in at Arlington?

Oh yeah... it was because we were waiting for an answer from a rider who was never going to be able to ride for us.
GazzaH

Yes but COUS... Woodsy started that season as our third heat leader on something like a 7.5 average! but he rose to the challenge and finished as a number 1!!  Esky came in as a second string from Brum and excelled into a heat leader.... yet again, had the whole team turned up that was on paper we would have been a terrific proposition!!
speedy dan boy

I see that Denis GizajobNOT  is captain of russia for the WTC with another eastbourne ex Roman Pov .Wonder if Trev geer has thought about it  traveling to denmark to see if he could get one of them Rolling Eyes !! and find out why Denis cannot ride over here.If he gets Roman at least we will have a bit of fun to look forward to!!! Wonder if Trev takes it on himself to get riders in or does he take orders from someone else?!!!!! I think i know the answer Wink
ComeOnYouSpurs

Absolutely GazzaH.... but I think the point I'm trying to make is that the result is not always the be all and end all.

Sometimes, as in 1983, a real spirit of togetherness can be built up out of adversity.

But I do expect everyone to give of their best at all times and I don't think that's been happening for the last 3 years.

In 1983 we had a team thrown together at the last minute who  pulled together, made the absolute best of their ability and probably over achieved.

In the last 2 years we've had teams that have looked good on paper.... started the season on fire.... but for whatever reason fell apart and probably under achieved.
GazzaH

Cant argue with any of your last there COUS...bang on the money as far as commitment from that team goes.  More recently, yes we won the Knockout Cup last season but... had that same level been shown all the way through last year, could we or, should we  have won the league as well????

I dont know why when it comes to Eastbourne (less so whilst Cookie was here) that there seems to be some sort of obstruction getting suitable replacements in quickly. I know or I should say Bob, appears to be very loyal to riders such as Floppy, whereas Ford over at Poole is not. I wonder, do the riders at Poole think any less of Matt Ford as the current crop do of Bob.

The current will he wont he sign situation with Walasek... for me he is a gater, terrific if he makes it, not so special if he dont, so for me, I hope he doesnt sign. I would much sooner we got Max instead. I mentioned Righetto in jest earlier, if we are determined to get a Pole in... how about Robert Slabon..... ooooh be still my beating heart.
ComeOnYouSpurs

Agree with you again GazzaH that Max would probably be a better signing than Walasek.....

But will it ever happen or is it just another smoke screen?
We'll wait and see.....

And on the subject of Robert Slabon..... Ok, maybe he was never a prolific points scorer in Eagles colours..... but once again..... there haven't been many who've tried harder.

If one or two of the "prima donnas" we've had in the team over the last few years had put in the same level of effort as Robert we probably wouldn't be in the state we're in now.
GazzaH

Re Slabon... didnt Bob ban him because he took out half of the safety fence and he considered him too dangerous! lol  I remember a certain Petr Pyzsny who was top notch for effort and commitment and didnt get the points his efforts deserved.... oooh ark at us reminicsing!! Admin ... we need advising to stick to type.
ComeOnYouSpurs

Before we get "told off" - can I just remind you of my favourite ever "comedy duo" to grace the shale at Arlington.....

Eastbourne's very own "Super" Swedes.....

Borje Ring and Lars Hammerberg.

But before I'm too unkind on them.... I actually remember Hammerberg beating Phil Crump from the back in a KO Cup match at Swindon that I think we won 40-38.

It was actually on Cup Final day in 1982 when Spurs and QPR drew 1-1 before the mighty Spurs won the replay 1-0 thanks to goal by God.... otherwise known as Glenn Hoddle.

Happy memories.....
GazzaH

You mentioned Ring and Hammerberg ...I raise you Anders Eriksen and Lillebror Johansen>>>beat that!

You know only a Jan Puk can do it!!!
ComeOnYouSpurs

I've got to thank you GazzaH for cheering me up a hell of a lot and perhaps putting some of the current issues into some kind of perspective.

But I stick with what I said before....

We've had so many false promises of new signings over the last few seasons that I no longer accept that we are just unlucky.

I mean.... just taking the Walasek case as the most recent example.... does it really make sense that we hung around for 5 weeks waiting for an answer from a rider who wasn't going to be able to fit the dates in anyway???

Either someone is pulling the wool over our eyes or it's incompetence of a breathtaking level.

So.... if a decent new signing isn't in the team by the time we visit Belle Vue on 20th July that's it for the season as far as I'm concerned....

Except for the Coventry match on 8th August when I've promised to bring a few guys from work down for the day....

I'm heartened to read in this weeks Speedway Star that there are a couple of prospective new promoters, both of whom are interested in switching to the Premier League.... and if that happens I'll probably be back next year.... but if this season continues to deteriorate into a shambles.... no thankyou!!

So.... has anyone got any news on how the "talks" with Mikael Max are progressing?
ray

COUS , if there was news from the " other site " and dodgy dave , or the management would you believe it ?! would any of us ?! Sad
the credibility of both is in serious doubt by now .
ComeOnYouSpurs

Is see that unfortunately Rory Schlein picked up a nasty injury for Coventry last night.... best wishes to him.

Peter Oakes says.... "We have to look for a replacement with immediate effect"....

A worrying thought is that they could be in the market for Mikael Max....

But it will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to find a new rider compared to how long it has taken us.
parker

As an Eastbourne asset I'd go for Roman Provazhny would certainly be exciting and on last night form hes not riding bad Wink
ray

we agree my friend . posted this on world cup section .it' almost blindingly obvious to more than you and i surely . wake up management . Razz
emjay

I think all this stuff is just a smokescreen.  Mr BD is packing it in at the end of the season - which for Eastbourne is about 6 weeks away.  I really doubt if he will sign anyone else.
parker

More than like right emjay we've had R/R now for almost 3 seasons .....whats 6 more weeks. Rolling Eyes
ray

THE END , or almost , that is what it is .how much more must we be expected to swallow .think the idea is to close for at least one season , keep the junior track open [ though hagon was priced out of doing this] and maybe start again , BD is retiring so his view of us staying in the elite hopefully will not be maintained by new promotion , if there is one . there were two such people intrested for this season we were told --- then nuthin' .the paying customers are fobbed off again it seems , but i so hope i am wrong  this is not just my opinion , only have to look at the posts to see that . so what happens now , promotion have one last chance , sincerely hope they will take it , for everybody's sake . Sad  Shocked  Confused  Rolling Eyes  Crying or Very sad see if coventry again replace schlein who may miss the rest of the season . Question
poole [ but without much success] ,coventry ,ipswich ,and swindon , at least ,have taken steps to re-build when necessary . we are the odd one out here .
ComeOnYouSpurs

Everything seems to have gone quiet on the potential new signing front.

The World Cup has certainly thrown up a few possible candidates....

Maybe we've learnt our lesson and wont make any more announcements until a deal has been signed and sealed....

Maybe we've given up on the idea and are just going to let the season fade away while hoping that nobody notices....

Either way.... has anyone got any news?
ray

think they have gone off for brain  surgery . suppose it should be in good condition really as it hasn't been used much . Wink
emjay

Now now Ray, do I detect a note of cynicism in your last post.  I thought that was my prerogative.   R/r is so much easier, and everyone has got used to it over the past few years.  No point in changing for the last few meetings of the year.  You know it makes sense.....
Anyway, we have the  pairs to look forward to in August.  If Swindon field Adams and Zagar, who is there to stop them? Apologies - I'm off topic here.l
ray

me a cynic ?! --- y'know you could be right  they say i takes one to know one [ whoever " they " are .] hiya brother  Smile another cynicism --- r/r doesn't cost a match fee , traveling or other expenses or a minumum guarantee  Shocked  Shocked  Laughing

What the Argus says

GB right to stick with Bridger

By Brian Owen »

Eastbourne boss Bob Dugard has backed Great Britain’s decision to keep faith with Arlington star Lewis Bridger in the World Cup.

Bridger will be one of the five men selected from a six-strong travelling squad for the race-off at Leszno in Poland tomorrow.

Team boss Rob Lyon is recalling former Eagles skipper Lee Richardson but faces a dilemma over who to leave out.

Danny King impressed on his call-up as the Brits came third behind Poland and Australia on Monday.

The Ipswich man was originally expected to make way for Richardson but Hastings-born Edward Kennett is now coming under pressure for his place.

Dugard saw Bridger secure six points on his Team GB debut and said: “He did himself proud.

“He beat Tomasz Gollob well and he deserved more points.

“I can’t see how they can leave him out on that performance.

“He’s a bubbly character to have around as well. We know that because we miss him at Eastbourne when he isn’t there.”

Dugard was also pleased to see his captain Davey Watt score ten points for the Aussies after receiving a late call-up to replace injured Rory Schlein.

Eagles expect to learn today whether Swedish veteran Mikael Max will join them for the rest of the season.

Max has been offered the chance to replace injured David Norris but is also attracting strong interest in his homeland from Rospiggarna and Lejonen.

Eagles remain in talks with Piotr Swiderski and are also keeping close tabs on their former asset Adrian Miedzinski.
ray

that's enough" to drive us up the pole "yet again something like " poles apart " . think BD appears to be a bigger illusionist than david copperfield  Exclamation as so many have posted , please act and achieve first , then you can tell us . thought only politicians were so full of hot air and empty promises . if this goes on much longer , like a few days , we willnot listen to what our so-called management says either .as posted already , coventry [ and now they must do it again ]poole , swindon and ipswich at the least sorted out their problem of rebuilding their teams .

The latest is we had no luck with Max so then agread terms with Swidders only to be told it took us over the limit by .2 because Simon's average has now gone up so its RR for the rest of the season.

You couldn't make it up could you! Argus says.......Eagles call off the chase
11:00pm Friday 17th July 2009

By Brian Owen »

Eastbourne Eagles have called off their hunt for a new rider after being thwarted in a bid to sign Piotr Swiderski.
Eagles agreed terms with the Polish racer after drawing a blank in their pursuit of Mikael Max.
However with Simon Gustafsson now on a revised average, they have been told Swiderski takes them two tenths of a point over the limit.
Eagles will now complete the season with six men and run rider replacement for the injured David Norris.

Time to go Premier League I feel
ray

so swiderski over by .2 , but poole sign andersen and boxall with special dispensation .watta farce . do we believe management that they ever intended to sign a replacement .they will need replacement of support too .
ComeOnYouSpurs

How long ago were we saying that a rider needed to be signed quickly before Lewis's and Simon's new averages kicked in?

But no.....

Our esteemed leaders sit around on their fat backsides for 2 months.....

Announce a new signing who it then turns out cant fit in our dates....

Then agree terms with a rider who wont fit into the team because of..... Lewis's and Simon's new averages.

It's absolutely pathetic.

You have to ask whether they really ever intended  to sign anyone in the first place.

How can we be expected to support a club that just gives up the first time something goes wrong?

A club that throws in the towel half way through the season if things get a little bit tough?

A club that doesnt give 100% in every match throughout the entire season in a whole hearted attempt to win whatever trophies are on offer?

A club that is apparently there purely to make up the numbers?

I guess thats what you get when you have amateurs trying to run a professional club.

The words brewery and p**s up spring to mind and I've just about had enough!!
ray

on the button COUS . so what do " they " expect from us now ? as the attendances continue to dwindle, especially when there are continuous guests and r/r . ok  riders being away on overseas engagements that always seem to take priority  is not the management 's fault , and it seems a team in the elite cannot be built without such riders --- but what have the bspa to say on these continuous problems --- maybe it is our fault for racing on saturdays  they think .but as COUS  posts the combination of unfit for purpose management and bspa make the situation impossible .british speedway and the fans will always be the losers .  Sad
emjay

Well, I for one am not surprised. Its the fag end of the season for the Eagles, and the end of promoting for Mr BD.  Did anyone really expect this bunch of amateurs to sign anyone to replace Floppy.  And there is one thing to be said for rider replacement - at least the remaining riders in the team get the chance to earn extra money.

Agree. You've just mirrored my own feelings. Totally inept promotion. Lost sponsorships from last year so their are no sponsors to dig into their pockets or to keep happy. All the other teams are spending money to keep themselves in the hunt for the playoffs. Our promotion also want to earn extra revenue by getting into the play offs. But the one against the Premier League champions!  You never know it may work in our favour if the team all hit form together and we also get lucky guest replacements whenever Davey Lukas or Simon are missing. But I doubt if it will be due to the inspired leadership of the current promotion

so right SPD , it would have been a crowd puller . maybe BD has carried on the family business well , but in other aspects he has no true business acumen at all it appears . cannot attract investors , does care about the paying public , clearly upsets many people, some of us know that personally . then cannot understand what the fans want , fabrications -come -thoughts  brings disappointment and disillusion to paying customers , cannot recognise a good thing when he sees it --- SPD's idea would be a tremendous hit .many have talked of this , last season and this too . poole , lakeside , ipswich , coventry and swindon have all been hit by injuries and re-built , even since us , but they have done what is necessary . all we have had all season is hot air , few would believe anything he said now . as for his ray's friend , neither were up to their respective tasks . to deal with these tasks the people have to have a talent for it and get on with people so that they are trusted and can be relied on . experience is no advantage if somebody does not remember it or know how to use it .
emjay

Well said Ray.  It is difficult to imagine a more clueless gang than the Arlington management.  Their cluelessness is matched only by their arrogance and disregard for their paying public.
ray

thanks emjay , we are the paying customers , but the numbers are bound to diminish .suppose they had not thought of that . goes to show posts are correct in what they say . how can we not feel this way . again , they hadnot thought of that either . have posted about the unanswerable problem of racing in the elite on saturday nights , and if they do not care about us we will cease to care about them . no way there could be a 4th season like these . also , as posted , because of my wife's health i cannot be away 5/6 hours , but if that werenot the case i would only go when we had the eagles team out , possibly with r/r , but all other eagles . Sad
without a doubt we have the worst management in the elite

and now we have had a similar error made with Lee Complin last night. It's surely the Team Managers job to know all these dates and correct averages?

Yes it would be great to have a new promoter next year, if we are in the Premier League that is. However, we are going to need a new Team Manager as well me thinks to put the Club back on the right footing

and bridger ? if what' s printed is true why was he not in cotact with ray's-friend trevor , or when was he ? why could passport not be retrieved , was it necessary for it to be shown at restaurant ? somethings  we are not being  told , or truthfully , not suprising we feel that wat about anything from them  Sad  so if lewis is suspended , bob doesn't have necessary friends at bspa --- where does he ?! , we will be another rider short . well they cannot cope with one short , let along with more  Sad .
MrB

Well for those of you who didn't go last night or may have missed what Trevor said last night apparently we're in talks with another rider again! And should get a response in 3/4 days Rolling Eyes

Doesnt matter really does it? you only going once more to say goodbye to  long standing old friends if Ive read you posts right.. Hope I'm included Wink  Laughing

absolutely my friend . anyway even though a cannot be there more i care just as much . so hoping we will be there next season , and it washes away the last three . yes there have been excellent meetings , and we should finish above poole , so certainly not all bad . but we we know about " the other stuff " -- we have posted plenty about it . gonna be some close season , all crossing our fingers and anything else that doesn't make our eyes water .hope we are not treated like your infamous mushrooms paul  Laughing

So - in talks with another rider are we?  Ivan or Briggo might fit.
ray

the elusive pimpernel , or big pimple ---- either way a sore point . think our management and news reporters should be fiction writers instead they've missed their true vocation .that is proven to be true . see coventry has done what was needed --- yet again .
ComeOnYouSpurs

Any guesses as to who the latest target we are probably going to miss out on might be?

Robert Ksiezak maybe??? Should be cheap enough for BD and ray's friend.
ray

free , that's about right for them . thanks for catching on to the " ray's friend " nickname , sophie's mate , could say it fits like a ray's  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

Daniel Nermark is the new target. I reckon he would be a good signing if they get him. But why don't the promotion wait until they have agreed and signed  a rider. How many times have the hopes of the supporters  been raised and then let down when the negotiations fail?
ray

it's called spin , mally . another word for things are not as they say . seems to have caught on everywhere . i , others , agree with you entirely .think we know what happens when somebody calls wolf too often , we cease believing anything they say . what is even more incredible is they are so enwrapped in this they don't even realise or understand that we have lost trust and patience with them . seems to be a virus that has spread generally , wonder if there is an NHS help line that could assist them back into our world .
the choice though sounds a sound idea , but can we believe them----this time
emjay

Frankly I don't care any more.  Looks like a good meeting on Aug 8th.  Will go to that, and that will be it for the season.  I fancy the Poole duo.  Any ideas anyone?  Sorry,  off thread there.
ray

emjay , bullyboybob and ray's friend have not only posted off our thread , they have lost the thread completely . believe anything with a thread has to be screwed up , but in a completely different conitation . but it has been  " s****ed up ", so badly it draws posts like these , which together are called a thread . back to the beginning again folks  Razz

Well, on the old site in the days of Bob Brimstone, going off thread was a serious crime.   Almost as bad as calling the management to account, for which I recall, I was banned from the site.  All clouds have a silver lining though, as I was recommended this one by Chris Watts.  Much more democratic on here.   Same old nutters though !!

See that Poole have SIGNED Exclamation a new rider.

No advance speculation, no announcements that they are "looking at 2 or 3 riders", just quietly gone out and done the business.

Leon Madsen, makes his debut on Monday against Coventry, replaces Davidsson.

Now, when was Nermark going to ring Trevor....?

You cannot make a person phone you. This person has a name, it is getting a bit too personal. Shocked  Wonder how many people would like the job, it is not as easy as some people think.
nug

You will find it as no surprise that  Nermark will not be coming as he no longer wants to ride over here due to a dodgey shoulder, are mangement one minute tell us its r/r for rest of season then get our hope ups with nermark then let us down again, Aussie it may not be easy but they do not help themselves.
ray

we are the ones being let down , the management is too , but how come the have failed where seven of the teams have succeeded in rebuilding . think most of us realise they are not as efficient and capable as other managements .some have had to rebuild more than once . the possible signings all seemed to have strung them along , maybe hoping for better options  Sad
nug your post totally correct maybe they decided to have one final try , turns out he is injured . did that not come up when consideration was being given . how can posts not be personal when so many pointing out serious short comings of those we are paying money to , and were trusted by us . how can such be made impersonable ? suppose the only way would be to ignore the situation , or consider there there is not one . we have our opinions and these differ , but most who post seem to have the common opinion which they express .
anyway , it is spilt milk now .

thanks nug for the info.

so a russian , two poles and a swede all said no --- eventually. maybe " somebobody " upset them ?! after peppapigs latest post about the two martins and BD , anything is possible , some may say probable . Rolling Eyes see " last meeting / 2009 season " thread . Shocked  Wink
ray

see nermark still riding for his polish team , ostrow ,on sunday 2nd so when was he unfit to ride for eagles ,this follows his 9 plus 1 for swedish team piraterna  on 29th july .after these scores presumably . if he is reported as riding in next week's speedway star we know somebody is telling porkies again?:
ComeOnYouSpurs

Im no supporter of "the management" ray, but in this case I think Nermark said that because of his iffy shoulder he didn't want to take on the extra meetings that riding for us would have involved.
ray

i do appreciate what we have had for seventeen seasons , as for nermark , i was asking . after all he was the fourth to disappear before he even appeared . seeking clarification . let's see in the speedway star next week if he is riding . it is posible that the terms offered to them were not satisfactory , ours is not a wealthy club . it's just as our friend parker says ---- we are treated like mushrooms . the case  against us continuing seems to have been accepted , and the combined reasons are overwhelming , we have to accept that . apart from eagles british speedway as it is now is in about as serious trouble as it can be .
one oddment in the star this week , aces v robins , travis mcgowan riding at reserve and scoring a fifteen point maximum had a higher average than any of the aces except kasprazak .we have seen some strange rebuilding and averages this season , but what must the aces management thought of this situation ? Shocked  Rolling Eyes
ray

see belle vue have signed tomas chrzanowski so as to have seven riders . he performed very well with swindon when he rode for them a few seasons ago .it would appear we are the only team , apart from wolves , who have failed to rebuild when struck by injuries . wolves haven't had to . well we know who and why are responsible for our abject failure to have seven riders again . how many months is it now ?!
ippo going very well , bottom team in play off has to be poole or belle vue now . but aces new signing could make a significant difference . we could have had the same opportunity if we had a proper management . Shocked  Confused  Sad
ComeOnYouSpurs

And lets not forget ray.....

This is the 2nd season on the trot that we have gone through the season without making any changes for injuries or team building.....

And the season before that we rode for months with a 6 man team until Roman Povazhny was brought in for the last few meetings.

It really is an appalling comment on the total mis-management that we have had to put up with.
ray

how can we forget COUS ,  back to being treated like parker's mushrooms yet again  Mad .how can those in charge expect support , consideration  and trust from us when we get none of these things from them . Question
sussexbulldog

The speculation over the last few weeks on whether Eastbourne has signed a replacement rider for Dave Norris, has finally come to an end.

Swedish rider, Daniel Nermark, has wanted to come back to the UK for a while, and the place that the Eagles has vacant can prove just right for him.

He nearly signed a week ago, but wasn't sure of his shoulder, but after further testing, found his shoulder was holding just fine.

Daniel will make his first appearance in an Eagles race jacket on Thursday 20th at Swindon where he'll slot into reserve berth that was recently occupied by Eagles favourite, Simon Gustafsson. His Arlington debut will be two days later for the home match against the Wolverhampton Wolves

Excellent news  Cool
