absolutely , this will bring back fans , if all is ok fitness-wise . floppy and deano , the pits will be like they used to be , with david and deano, fantastic . but he is so special , and loved , it will very worrying , and if he falls ----- well i won't even think about it .
must assume he didnot get england job . thought he was what we needed as team manager , he has every required attribute .

sincerely hope it goes well for David but will be concerned. Think this will aid and abet his Team GB aspirations too, as he will be back in the thick of it. Didn`t harm Boyce did it?
Mechanic is iffy though has this new boy got any experience?
designer spanners?

gonna be a beano with david and deano in the pits .how quiet it has been without them . their experience on and off the track will be vital , and an inspiration for all . davey will need some help too , as captain , with the present set-up of management .

News from Elite-eagles.comThe roar of engines could be heard around the Stadium. Behind closed doors the legend returned once more to put some laps in round the track. Dave Norris spent a sunny January day getting much needed practice. He rode the bikes he has brought from Hans Andersen. He was reported to have said, "I've never seen bikes like this"
From all accounts Dave, the highest point scorer for the Eagles, had that hungry look about him once more. Both Bob and Trevor had all the faith in Dave before now, but they might've felt their hearts in their mouths as Dave took to the track for the first time. Their fears soon evaperated as the laps fell away. The look in Dave's eyes said it all. The Flopster is back!

Good meeting from Floppy on Saturday, looked focused at the starts and should have had a paid double figure score if it hadn't of been for the ref who I'm sure had his guide dog in the box! Instead he came away with a smashed up bike and a bad leg!

The other site no norris tonight at lakeside due to back injury

Sorry to read that, get fit for Monday, Floppy.
We were probably going to be up against it tonoght anyway, so better he gives it a miss rather than risking further injury by riding when not fully fit.

Hopefully Dave is fit for Monday? After Lakeside we need him.

Daves Mother in Law reports on Floppys Facebook page ...As a result of Mondays fall Floppy has had a skingraft on his arm after suffering 3rd degree burns. His arm is very painfull but hopes to be home from East Grinstead Hospital Tomorrow (thursday)
Best Wishes for a speedy recovery

I am sure all Eagles fans wish Floppy a speedy recovery. He has had a skin graft on his arm at the East Grinstead Hospital, he is due to be released today. It is going to be a while before he is back on the track. I would guess that he will not be able to do his job as an electrician while he is recovering. Will they have a collection for him and Simon our other long term injured rider, or have they stopped doing this.

A real shame to hear Floppy all but rule himself out for the rest of the season.
If only our Aussie contingent could show the same passion as him we might not be in the state we are now.
Are we in the running to sign Troy Batchelor (yes I know he's another Aussie!!) as a replacement for the rest of the season?
If we're not.... we certainly should be.
I would think that with him being based in the South, Eastbourne might be a more attractive proposition than facing a trip to Manchester for his home meetings.

but will they bother if it is going to cost money --- think we know the answer to that .

FloppyAccording to Trevor they are serious about getting into the playoff places so they need to do something about replacing Floppy they cannot keep using rider replacement Troy would be the ideal replacement so they need to put their hands in their pockets, think they should think about replacing more than Floppy at least 2 riders need a kick up the backside or get rid. Alot of people will not keep paying to watch the current team thus losing more money. In the current climate if people think they are not get value for money then they won't attend and will spend their money elsewhere, certain people seem to forget a night out at the speedway is not a cheap night out!

Agree with you 100% SophiesMate.
I'm certainly not going to be spending upwards of £60 per meeting to watch certain antipodian prima donnas going through the motions for the rest of the season.
A decent replacement for Floppy must be found and either changes need to be made or certain riders need to make significant improvements.
Otherwise the season.... and possibly the future of the Eagles.... will just fizzle out in front of ever dwindling audiences.... and how sad would that be?

just out of interest does anyone have a list of rider assets for eastbourne that we may call upon
|
Sophies Mate
|
FloppyNot sure about anyone else but I can say I am not that impressed with the riders they have been looking at signing in Floppy's place - Mikael Max or Mark Loram! Mikael is riding or was riding in the PL so I guess most of our riders would be quite happy to ride with Mikael seeing as their level of riding is about the same level. I have never really been a fan of Mark Loram - he a nice guy but feel he is well and truly past his sell by date. Grzegorz Walasek might not be too bad, not sure how he gets on with small tracks. I don't know anything about Martin Vaculik is he any good? As usual we are trying to get the cheapest possible riders and then wonder why we are not in the playoff places.

Why is it we are charging more than other tracks Poole for instance the Family ticket is £4 cheaper, Concessions £1 cheaper Under 16s are £4 each. Does anyone know if any other tracks charge for parking? Would like to know what happens to the car parking money certainly not for the carpark up keep maybe it was to pay for the two sheds???

Have not been to many away meetings in last few years but I do know you pay to park at Poole and Arena is free.
