Eagles must race Sundays again to improve attendancesFor me the only way for Eastbourne to improve crowds is to return to Sunday afternoon racing. We are not a Manchester or Poole team being based in a built up area with a captive fanbase.
Instead we are in the middle of nowhere and rely on fans driving long distances to watch speedway racing. Therefore Sunday afternoon racing gives fans time to travel to and from a meeting.
By racing in the afternoon we would have the best weather of the day. We have too many cold evenings at the start and end of the season which puts people off coming to watch.
We would also attract new speedway fans from away tracks as Sunday gives everyone the chance to travel.
Yes it would mean returning to the Premier League but aren't people fed up of seeing the same team four or five times a season and now pick their matches?
Sunday afternoons is the only way forward for Bob to run the club viably again in the future.

Individual opinion time I am not against Sunday afternoon racing but prefer sat nights but if it meant saving speedway may suit others & BD pocket. Maybe Bob doesn't want to spend his Sundays at track. As for premier racing I don't think my family and I would travel 1 hr and a half every sunday.
It is good that fans are making suggestions to save speedway at Arlington, I just wish Bob could be a bit more warming to us loyal fans. He does a fantastic track job and is desperate for newcomers so as keep being said 'Spread the word to friends & family' and hopefully with more advertising we will be saved

What's the biggest crowd of the season so far. It's the Dean Barker meeting which was on a Sunday afternoon at 3.30pm.
You also don't need to put up posters any more as most people have the internet and can google.
It's also not very warm on a lot of Saturday nights in the last couple of summers.
Sunday afternoons are the only way forward.

sorry eagle cant really agree with you this time.simply because during the summer months people have 101 things to do on a sunday afternoon and make the most of our summer if we had one!!!! Also for all armchair fans the F1 is on every other sunday with a load of other sports also to watch and take all that into account i think speedway will be down the pecking order of a family. Its just my opion though and i have been wrong many times!!!

The reason that there was such a good crowd is because of Deano. As Poland race on a Suinday, most teams could be depleted because they are contracted to ride over their. We know that the Polish clubs do not and sometimes will not release any of their contracted riders if they clash. I know in the old days their used to be good crowds on a Sunday, but their were more teams to see.

..............If we went back to Premier League then we wouldn't have a problem with double booking of riders Aussie2 And you have hit a major reason for low crowds with the bit above I feel

No problem speedy dan boy. If Eagles are going to get gates up again the fans need to have a discussion as to why gates have fallen. Our promoters don't seem to have much idea and we should chip in now

I also wonder how much losing some top riders who have decided to miss riding in england this season have affected the sport in general. Understand completely why they have opted out for more money as dangerous sport, short career etc but am sure some fans have given up as they like to see top riders. Us loyal fans do realise that this also is a golden opportunity for riders like Lewis, Tai etc who still produce exciting racing but I don't think all supporters do. Good luck to Scott, Nicki and all other exiled riders but be good to see them in Elite league again one day
