Dryml signs for Eagles

Well, according to the official site Eagles have signed Lukas Dryml for a short period to cover for Denis as he is having problems with his paperwork.
Not quite sure how I fell about this one. I always thought Lukas was much better on a larger track.
Never a dull moment at Arlington at the moment.
ray

oops , hope this doesn't turn out to be a c**k-up . thought all the documentation and permit was sorted --- that is how it appeared from what we were told . wait and see , but no more fairy tales please  Surprised
Hebbs

What a dreadful signing! Twisted Evil

He can't do a lap of Arlington. I feel thoroughly p****d off with this, it is the final straw as far as I am concerned. I will attend Dean's testimonial, but I feel so let down by this that I can't see me spending my hard earned to watch a dangerous and useless rider like Dryml. Evil or Very Mad

I guess the reason I am so angry is that I have supported the Eagles for what would be 40 years this year, and I feel that we are being taken for fools with the team Bob is putting out. I was going to finish with a why not sign riderX?, but I couldn't think of anyone worse than Dryml! Rolling Eyes

The rumour was going round at the staff meeting that Dryml had been signed due to the Russians problems with obtaining a work permit. the rumour also implied that we wouldnt be see Denis ride here only time will tell. Rolling Eyes  Speedy this English Test is a requirement of the new imagration laws ( applicant has to have basic understanding of the English language, which must rule out half of Tunbridge Wells Laughing )being as Denis was alledgedly going to base his self over here. Ive never known a club make so many announcements only for it all to go t**s up Laughing As for Dryml you never know which Dryml will turn Up , he'll be world beater one meeting fall off everywhere the next meeting. Laughing  Laughing Do you reckon Deanos Meeting will record the highest attendance for the coming season. Season ticket sales are'nt going to well apparently either which is a surprise Laughing  Laughing  Laughing Thinking of taking the Eagle sticker out of my cars rear window.... seen people laughing at me Embarassed  Embarassed

agree dryml is totally at sea on arlington , as McEnroe used to say
" YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS " .. c'mon management ---- manage . sort it asap  Sad  Idea

Anyone know where James Brundle is this year Wink  Wink
samthepalaceman

Don't think he is signed up yet Kevin, there is still hope if Woodward does a "Tom Hedley" and stays in Aussie  Very Happy

He was a GP rider last season.
nug

I know for a fact as well cos i spoke to him the other day that cam is having problems with his visa as well,
ray

oh no , not cam too . wonder who we will see at p & p day .has the management not checked all these things out , they are about as competent as that bunch at westminster . well it will have to improve or a lot of us will be at deano's for the first , and possibly the last time this season . yet i find all this somewhat hard to believe , but we have learnt already -- we don't know what to believe this season. see peterboro and others have sold the least season tickets since they opened . think if all these nightmares come home to roost it will be the same at arlington . first time i haven't bought a season for 17 years.  Sad  Confused  Shocked
have to wait and see , at p & p day and deano's farewell .

well my friend , we promised to meet , so we will be there . the rest may be more fairy tales , or a nightmare . that reminds me , the definition of a nightmare ---- a one night stand for a stallion  Laughing gotta have a laugh , it might just take our minds off what we really don't want to think about .
MrB

I thought it was April 1st when I saw the front page! I can't think of a more underwelming signing than Dryml! Have never rated him even if he was a GP rider last year. How long have we had to sort out visa issues? The season is fast approaching and we are greated with this news of a rider who we were told when his signing was announced that wouldn't have the same availability issues as before!

We are fast approaching the laughing stock of the league!
Londoneagle

... lose the fast approaching
speedy dan boy

what gets me is why Dryml ,or how did he come to be in the frame to cover for Denis.Ok Denis has problems but out of all the riders to pick how on earth did Drymls name come up?!!!  Ive got nothing against Dryml but his Eastbourne record speaks for its self.Everyone knows that so if we have to find a short term replacement it wouldnt have even entered my mind to think of him,let alone ride at number2 or wherever for us!!At  least Kling has a chance to start a reserve which maybe a blessing!!
Dryml last scores at eastbourne were
  2008  DID NOT RIDE
  2007  5 FOM 4 RIDES A FIXTURE- DID NOT RIDE B FIXTURE
2006   DID NOT RIDE IN THE UK
ray

so who were unlucky eniugh to buy season tickets ,i got it right this year,i didn't . whole thing is an embarrassment Embarassed  Embarassed  Sad
7oakseagle

If we were looking for a short term replacement for Denis what was wrong with Risager or even Tomicek? I cannot think of a rider who rides the small tracks worse than Dryml.
Mind boggling stuff Evil or Very Mad
ray

sevenoakseagle for team manager , definately . risager , well our so called management have failed on this , you haven't . can you drive a tractor too ?! at least you won't drive us to distraction and disappointment . Smile  Wink

Watch out Simon................

Eagles face competition for places
8:00am Saturday 28th February 2009

By Brian Owen »

Eastbourne Eagles have been warned there is competition for places after Czech rider Lukas Dryml joined the club on loan.

The Peterborough asset has been drafted in due to ongoing delays for Denis Gizatullin in securing a work permit.

Gizatullin, the reigning Russian champion brought in by Eagles for the coming season, still has to pass an English test to secure his passage to this country.

The club believe he is capable of passing but there have been logistical problems so far in actually taking the test in Moscow.

Dryml, the experienced 27-year-old from Pardubice in the Czech Republic, was without a team place in England for the coming season and had contacted Eagles on various occasions hoping an outing in the forthcoming Dean Barker Farewell at Arlington would put him in the shop window.

He is now on board for the start of the season, on a 6.28 average, and could stay for longer if he impresses.

Gizatullin is on an assessed average of 4.00 so could replace any of the Eagles riders when he arrives, not necessarily Dryml.

Eagles promoter Bob Dugard said: “Denis’s average is less than our reserves, Ricky Kling and Simon Gustafsson, will be.

“I want to try Denis and if one of the riders is not shaping up he can step in.

“Simon has a lot of international commitments at under-19 and under-21.

“It might be he has to miss so many meetings we look at Denis replacing him.

“If Dryml performs well, he stays.”
MrB

Don't worry. He won't!
ray

better get him to p & p day , he needs it . so we could have had risager , maybe janniro . as we all know , and surely the management must , the drymls cannot manage arlington . have seen them there many times , mentally and physically they are not up to it . if our management had a sense of humour i would think this was a wind-up , but they have no humour ---- and they have no sense  Sad

I see there's no end to BD's bizarre press releases.

Pinch of salt again. We all know when (if) Denis arrives, Lukas will go.

And if he's thinking of getting rid of Simon - he truly has lost it!
ray

he'll lose us too . think there is a danish bloke called andersen with the management ---- hans christian andersen --- great  at fairy tales . what ever we may think of cook , it's been the crazy gand since he left . Sad
Kopster

I have alway said it was a big mistake in losing Jon Cook. We never really try to keep him at the club which is sad. I can't see us doing any good until we get someone in charge with the knowhow of Cooky. I am not saying B.Dugard and T.Geer are no good coz they are not but we need someone who is full time and now how to do things without losing there cool and regated afew week later they mistake.
ray

think just about all of us are with you on that kopster . have posted to this effect on another thread of this website . this is the third season since he went , and we have never known such uncertainty before . yes bobby is vital , but he needs the experienced help that has always there before which has enabled him to take a back seat . some have said to me i have become a bobby fan more , yes , he provides our speedway . but he cannot do everything , nobody can . we all have short-comings [ no that doesn't mean a dwarf has just arrived  Smile ] but it seems those who  control our speedway do not work in unison , and have different aims and priorities . we actually have our own track , which is unique , so in some ways we do not have the problems others  have , but we have other problems instead . organising and running a speedway club , and a team are specialised talents , and we are short on these , which previously we were not . the chopping and changing we are experiencing before the season has even started is unsettling and a worry , and unsettling for all concerned . the last two seasons have both been roller-coaster rides, ups and downs . wouldn't   it be wonderful to have a smooth and comfortable progression .

ray

amazing , or was it computer trickery--- dryml beating andersen and crump at arlington . watch david's link and see if you believe it !! maybe my wife put some wacky baccy in my cigar , she can't have , i gave them up ages ago !  Shocked  Shocked
ray

has no body else seen it , expected some posts if they have Rolling Eyes
emjay

Just watched it. Quite a ride.  Maybe Mr BD has pulled off a masterstroke.
ray

good on you emjay , no one else checked it out ?
emjay

Have a look guys.  If our man in Moscow passes his test, could he do better than that?
