ales dryml short-listed as replacement for lewis [ away on international duty ]--- management think it's 1st of april  instead of 1st june  Shocked  Shocked  Shocked so they don't care if we win or not , how else can we take it  Sad  Shocked best chance we have of our first away win  Confused  Confused anyway wait and see who guest is . week by week there is more to doubt about the team management , including the " russian problem " . Sad still not sure of our team at peterborough tonite either. apparently we upset " them ", nuthin' to what they do us , oh jon cook , please come back , all is forgiven  Sad

Well everyone, or almost everyone, doubted the wisdom of signing Lukas so let us give his brother a chance.  You never know, he might be happier riding for the Eagles as well and produce the ride of his lifetime.  I really don't believe he would be asked to guest if it was thought that he would not try.

lucas has always been better than his brother , notably on small tracks ,ales was particularly uneasy when riding arlington. belle vue is also a smaller track . hence he is at peterborough again . cannot believe ales an adequate replacement for lewis on any track . Shocked  as for the idea he might prefer to ride with lukas at eastbourne , management say they have another rider to temporarily to replace floppy / the russian  -- he's danish , the land of bacon , and pigs might fly  Razz  Razz  Razz

There are 3 elite league teams not riding on Monday-  Poole, Coventry and Peterborough. As I think Lewis is still on his 5 point average then who else do you suggest ?

mally , that is the job of tyhe management  . it would seem logical to utilise a guest who also has a " false average " or perhaps the likes of bjarne pedersen whose new low average would likely fit into our points limit . do you have any ideas ? think some of us certainly have , let's see the suggestions . be most pleasing if the management get it right .wonder which of them actually decides , nominally trevor , as he is the team manager officially . Idea

Ex Belle vue rider Jason Lyons is the guest replacement for Bridger and I reckon the management has picked the best available rider for Lewis's average of just over 5. His new average has not come into effect therefore Bjarne is not eligible.

Agree that Jason Lyons is probably as good as we could get at the moment. He usually does well round Belle Vue.

The Aces look strong at reserve so we need our 6 & 7 to do the business tonight.

We also need Davey to perform like a real no.1 if we're to have a chance of coming away with something.

Good luck to all.

Good choice for R/R. I reckon we might nick something tonight.

awful -- we might pinch a point ?! yes , that is what we are scoring --- in each race . Sad need davy fit and simon back , plus a replacement for floppy . watching swindon at ipswich , zagar replacing injured batchelor . what do we do --- so disappointing . heads are dropping , shades of the last two seasons . other teams with injuries or in need are strengthening , apart from ipswich , do something . look at risager for aces tonite . we have a no-show russian . hard to stomach this . suppose it is  fault of low attendances, not enough of us attending , not enough income . it can be very difficult for a team with key injuries , lack of confidence on a losing streak . but that is when they , the management and us have to stand up and be counted . if not , then attendances will decrease even further . we need seven fit and determined riders , management managing , and us attending and supporting . all this was there  - we must get it back or the dream will be over .

51 - 30, 2 heats to go, oh dear!

Good post Ray, (see, I can be nice to you!! Very Happy )

Mind you, your comment about attendances, was there anyone at Ipswich? I could not see anyone in the bits I saw!!!

Aces 57 - Budgies 39

Yet another dismal away performance.

Scorers (from SpeedwayUpdates):

Davey Why? - 11 from 5 rides including 6 point tactical
Jason Pussy - 6 from 5 rides
Cam Wayward - 9+1 from 6 rides including 6 point tactical
Lukas Dismal - 3 from 3 rides
Ricki Kling-ing On (Just) - 5+3 from 6 rides
Chris Scrambling - 5 from 5 rides

A hopeless team with a clueless manager.... a lethal combination that could be signalling the end of Eastbourne Speedway unless drastic changes are made.... NOW!!!

well aces did win at ippo , and having watched ippo lose at home again to swindon  tonight there is no doubt we and ippo are the two weakest teams in the league .we are certainly not worth following away from home . we could well lose at home for a second time to coventry on saturday . only have to look at the make-up of the two teams to realise that . this is make or break time , and we need a team of seven fit and determined riders .a team cannot keep up the pace without this . we seem to either be unable or unwilling to see we have such a team . Sad

Don't forget that Ipswich gave us a good old thrashing the other day.

Watching them on Sky tonight just brings home how bad we must have been.

Exactly what I was thinking. Tonight at Belle Vue we had 3 heat winners same as at Ipswich and Coventry with 4 at Peterborough.  Davey has not performed well away in the league all year(even before his injuries) and Lukas away is at best a good 2nd string. Lewis rides like a mad dog and is trying really hard but doesn't use his head enough.  All these teams heat leaders  that normally struggle to get double figures are having field days when Eastbourne come to town! I am dreading Wednesday at Poole and on Saturday against Coventry. We will have to be on top form (or lucky) to get any points from either. I fear that we will be destroyed  by their top 4 in both meetings

thanks for your thanks david and kevin . quite suprised myself , no rant , more of a call from the soul --- am off to spain at 5.30 this morning with the family . i need this , get away from speedway and all the everyday news that is so depressing . whether goverment or speedway it seems all twisted politics .anyway , nuff of that , i can dismiss what annoys me , none of it worth getting upset about. but our sport is our relief , our inspiration , our friendship , and vital . it is also our release from other things we don't want to think about , which is why we can get so p---ed off .yes , as others have posted , when you think what ippo did to us on our visit there ---dire . we only had 4 of our 7 at aces , this is a farce in itself . Sad

I couldn't agree more. Perhaps Bob could offer the job of manager of the week on EBay and the highest bidder gets it. Twisted Evil
I'm sure that we couldn't do much worse than Trevor.
