Nice thought but there is no way that we could afford him. We need to make sure that we attend all home meetings that we can and make sure that the club does not close.

Just been on Nicki Pedersen's site, and the good news is that he has resigned for Czestochowa. Both he and the club have agreed a new contract. I am sure that Nicki is relieved. Very Happy

Just been on Nicki's site, he broke his thumb on the 28th. Nicki was leading when Dobrucki hit him hard from behind. This resulted in Nicki falling and landing on his thumb. Latest news is that he should know on Thursday whether he needs an operation. The fracture is in the outer joint of the thumb, and is very even. This could mean Nicki might not have to have an operation. The next GP is 10 days away. I am sure all Eagles fans wish Nicki the best.  Wink

Have been on Nicki's site this evening, and he said he will be riding on Saturday in the GP. He has been working with his physio today, and though he has some pain in his thumb he hopes all will be well. He will go out and practice on Friday, and will then see if he needs to make some changes to his bike. Best of luck Nicki.  Wink

I have just been on Nicki's site again this morning. They are trying to arrange a meeting with Ole Olsen. The reason given is the exclusion of Nicki in the final. Nicki has said "I am not trying to convict Emil Sayfutdinov, he is young and trying to find the limits which can be done on a speedway track. It is important that the referees have an eye for what  is happening. Right now, I have a need to give my side of the story, becuase I am sick and tired of the whole situation, and I am therefore considering whether it is worth getting ready to ride in  Parken in fourteen days. I devote my life to speedway and every day try to work as professionally as possible". There is much more on his site, but I have never known Nicki to be so down. Shocked  He is trying to get a meeting with Olsen, but I would not hold out much hope of that happening.   Exclamation  Exclamation

suggest he takes a lethal weapon with him , and do our sport a huge favour , get rid of the arrogant , ignorant olsen . he is like a bug , needs to be trod on .  Razz . think i need therapy , olsen now to go with bspa , coventry and poole , ruining our sport . Sad
their massive egos and inability to even understand the harm they are doing are amazing. basically they only care about themselves , and look where that is getting us ----- somewhere we do not want to go . Sad

Latest news from Nicki's site:- Reigning World Champion Nicki Pedersen and race director of the GP series Ole Olsen implemented today a meeting where Nicki presented his views on the events that led to his exclusion fronm the final in the Gothenburg GP last Saturday. The meeting was constructive and both parties subsequently agreed that efforts must now be used to look forward. For Nicki Pedersen this means he will work on his damaged hand again hoping he will be ready to race. However, it is only possible to assess the chances of whether Nicki's broken hand can handle the pressure at the GP when the bandages are removed early next week. I am pleased that Ole Olsen agreed to take this meeting with me. I needed to express some things and I felt that Ole listened. Meanwhile Ole now have peace to work on preparing the GP in Parken, which we all look forward to.
Does not look as though anything can be done about the unfair exclusion of Nicki. I reckon that he only met Nicki because he threatened to pull out of the GP's.  Hope he will be fit for the next one. Exclamation Hope Olsen does a better job on the track than the last one, which was diabolical.

Have just been on Nicki's site, this is the latest news as at 15 July.
"After talks with doctors Nicki has decided to pull out of tomorrow's race-off in Leszno. It means alot to me to ride for Denmark, but the risk is simply too big. Now Staechman gets the chance to try out some new young Danish riders, and that will give them some experience for the future. It has also been decided that Nicki will undergo an operation on the 28th July in Denmark. The consequence of this is that Nicki presumably will miss the next two Grand Prix meetings. I have been part of the Grand Prix system for the last 10 years. and I have never missed a GP before. This is just to top off a very turbulents 2009 season. Nicki ends". I am sure all Eagles supporters will wish Nicki all the best, and look forward to him racing in his own inimitable style when he has recovered.  It could be that Nicki's season is over. A sad end for him for 2009.

Latest from Nicki's site "On Monday morning Nicki will have an operation in Copenhagen. Nicki had planned to participate in league meetings in Czestochowa (Poland) and Lejonen (Sweden) rhis coming week. After talks with his doctor today he has changed his mind. The new information I got from the doctor means that I need an operation as soon as possible. The toxic substance from the burn wounds spreads in my body, and I am gettings weaker every day, it is just like having a bad flu. Therefore it will not be fair to my clubs to participate in league meetings the coming week, Nicki says. The healing proces will take up to 10 days, therefore there is still a small chance that Nicki can take part in the next GP in Daugavpils on August 1st. We will  update you about Nicki's health during the week".  Let us hope we see Nicki back on track soon, and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Latest from Nicki's site, 20.7.09. "After 1 hour and 30 minutes on the operating table , Nicki states that almost everything went according to plan. The doctor decided that the 4th burn also needed a skin transplantation. The donor skin was taken from Nicki's left leg. (The same leg that was hurt in the crash). Ofcourse I am a bit dizzy just after the operation, but I am happy it is well over and done with. Now I can look forward to at least 5 days in the bed at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, Nicki says." There will be an update about Nickis condition later this week.
Does anybody know where we can send a get well card to Nicki.

Latest from Nicki's site  "It was a satisfying doctor who stated that the healing process of Nickis burn wounds are going according to plan. The bandage was removed earlier today and the donor skin is sitting in the right places, without any signs of complications. But Nicki is still advised to keep the leg at rest for another week. Nicki has decided not to take the risk and participate in the next GP in Latvia on 1st August. Nils Kristian Iversen will take his place. The wounds need to be completely healed before I am going back on a speedway bike, otherwise I can risk to have problems for the remaining season, says Nicki".
Hope it is not too long before we see you back on a bike Nicki, I know all your fans wish this. Wink

Latest from Nicki's site dated 29.7.09. "After Nicki's visit to his physio today, he can state that everything is going according to plan with his injury. He has been riding a long trip on his mountain bike. My training in the next couple of days will show how soon I can be back on the real bike again, says Nicki". Hope to see you back in action soon Nicki, I for one miss seeing you, albeit only on the television. Smile

Nicki riding last night, 12 points. Smile  He had special bandages on his left leg. He is down to ride tomorrow night in Sweden. It just shows how tough a speedway rider is, not mamby pambies like footballers are. Well done Nicki, hope you continue to improve, and look forward to seeing you in the next GP in Mallila in a couple of weeks.  Wink
