Lewis Bridger is quoted in the Speedway Star as wanting away from Arlington next year.  This rather confirms his possible move to Lakeside which was rumored earlier on.

As much as I want Lewis to stay, it seems inevitable that he will move on, at least for a while.

The only thing I would say to Lewis, 'anywhere but Lakeside......anywhere but Lakeside'.

Unless I've misunderstood Lewis appears to want a move to a bigger track. No doubt Mr Ford has been moving about behind the scenes - the rumour about him going to Poole next year has run and run this season. Why he thinks Lakeside is an option is beyond me, perhaps he should speak to Adam Shields first before he decides. A very sad day as he seems to think that Eastbourne are holding him back, not very clever saying that Dean and David would be better riders had they left the club - does he not realise that they both spent time at other clubs (and then decided to return to Eastbourne) ? Maybe he's read this site and taken to heart the comments made about his performances and so thought he would be better off somewhere else. Whilst at times this year he has been infuriating I for one do not want to see him return to Arlington (that's if we survive) if anyone else's colours.
Here's one for you all to ponder on, I've been an Eastbourne fan for many many years - how many riders have left the Eagles (for good so not counting Ted) and become better and more accomplished riders ?
One last thought, why don't we all give up, let Poole and Lakeside sign all the riders and then ride each other home and away every week !

We dont really know what encouragement Lewis and the rest of the team are being given to stay with that I mean Simon, Cameron & Eddie. Scott and Lee are obviously assets of another club

I haven't seen the Star, but if that's correct, he's not fit to lick their boots!
Seems he's given the club untold grief over the last 2 seasons.
The club will benefit from some new faces.
Good riddance.

I wouldn't say good riddance, I know I will miss seeing him ride on a regular basis, but I don't really like the tone of the interview much.
He has taken a lot of stick, some of course justified but I do think he could have worded his comments a little better than he has done.  I'm not at all surprised he wants to ply his trade elsewhere, he does need bigger track experience so I don't think Lakeside would be an option unless nobody else wants him of course. It certainly seems quite clear the he "doesn't want to be stuck at Eastbourne anymore".  His comments about Dean and David  were also uncalled for.  Perhaps remarks made in that way should have waited until his Eastbourne season had finished.

Wherever he finds himself next season I hope he has a good one and fulfills his potential.

It also states that riding on a friday night would not work for him either so i cant see him going to lakeside. We have known for ages (read my comments in other topics) that there was no way lewis would ride for us next season so this comes to no surprise im afraid.

Whilst the potential move away is no surprise, it was mentioned to me by someone "in the know" a while back, the other comments are a stab in the back to the promotion who supported him greatly, and give him a big vote of confidence earlier on this season, on TWO occasions.

Future promoters take note, this young man has no respect or thought for anyone but himself.

Can't really say i'm going to miss him. Perhaps we can use him as a bargining tool to get Davey back?

Is this this the same David Norris  that Lewis had difficulty maintaining a professional relationship a couple of seasons back? Is this the same speedway club that stood by him time and time again through all of the bad performances on and off the track?

As usual Lewis your timing is ace son.....two days before a cup final and you serve up a load of remarks like that for the Eagles and the supporters. Do you know what Lewis, I like many others have grown tired of your immaturity .......it maybe the right time to off load all of that attitude at another club. The only problem for lewis would be that, if he behaved like he has done over the last couple of seasons, say at Poole, then he would have ended up at Mildenhall and no mistake.

The question is......will anybody be cheering for Lewis over the weekend? cos I am pretty sure I wont be.

I agree with mmmmethanol and sas. His comments about David and Deano are uncalled for. Shocked  They were loyal to the club. I am afraid he does not know what loyalty is. He said he does not want a Friday or Saturday club, Lakeside are a Friday club. This is rather a kick in the teeth for the supporters and Bobby Dugard, who stood by him. He is like a spoilt child, and he needs TO GROW UP. He might not find other promoters/supporters are not so forgiving or tolerant if he behaves the way he has done these last two seasons.  Mad

Fantastic timing Exclamation  Its a sad day when a local who has come through our system says he wants to go but with these reported comments its probably now impossible for him to stay. Im a big Lewis fan and have defended him at times this year when he was getting stick but the timing of this is all wrong and just tops off a dissapointing year. His comments on Saturday will be interesting! Lets hope he can put in two big performances and help us win the cup.If it comes out that Lewis is going to Lakeside then I think he will be making a big mistake. How will riding that track bring his career on?

If we are lucky because if Simon gets the deal he is after in Poland he will not ride over here.Cam will make a very good no1 in the premier

This should cheer you up Wink  Rosco says British speedway is in good shape and he doesn't understand all the stick it gets! Laughing
