Maybe david could delete my post if it isnt true but i thought all riders in the GPs have to have an assed 8 point average to ride in the elite league. If greg w comes in to replace Norris as a straight swap will the averages allow this to happen,or is it allowed for us to do it?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This applies to a new overseas rider in the Elite League.

Greg as a Pirates asset already has a green sheet average.

If we were after Emil then he would be assessed at 8.00

From memory I think Walasek would come in (should it ever happen) on something like a 6.25 average....

Which would leave us with about 1.5 points to play with should we wish to strengthen elsewhere....

Which would enable us to maybe replace Ricky Kling with a 6 point rider....

Which would mean Cameron dropping down to reserve....

Which would give us a returning to form reserve pairing of Cameron and Simon....

Which just might enable us to beat just about anyone just about anywhere!!!

Just a thought.....

like your thoughts COUS . feel sympathetic about ricky , but walazek --- not comfortable with him , his form , and possible un-reliability .some foreign riders are more reliable than others , kazprasak is a dependabl person ," denis the russian" obviously is not .the scandanavians  seem generally a better bet than eastern europeans , but of course the ozzies are in a class of there own . well they are not likely to disappear back home at the drop of a hat !! we have rather dawdled over matters , wish we had gone for troy bachelor . so , concerned walazek is another denis , who anyway is always likely to be called away for re-arranged polish or other overseas matches . our problem is that we require our riders on saturdays , and this is the most viable time for us to race , especially as we have so many long distance fans who cannot be there in time for weekday matches . not able to offer a suggestion , simply discussing the problems . really wish to hear others views and ideas . Idea

GOOD post Ray,just wish we could act in a ruthless way and get someone in as of yesterday. It does seem to me we do things the other way round,we annouce a rider(which is good)but then nothing happens(which is bad!)Ill go with the flow and support the club with anyone they get in,trouble is we aint getting any nearer to getting a rider in!!!! SPD, think some of us believe they are not trying too hard . as some one else posted , the last one to leave , switch off the light .
they have said eagles may " take a year out " , maybe it has started already .the riders and chances that have been left , the incredible farce over the russian , for the second time , now an " ulimatum " to a pole as well ?!

Swedish side Smederna have apparently gone bankrupt.
As Dave A on the other site has said, I wonder if Messrs Zetterstrom, Max, Jagus & Vaculik need some extra rides......?

Zetterstrom is renowned for being pricey so I doubt it very much

But as with Troy Batchelor.... I'm sure we'll be at the end of the queue!

Just as a side issue....

Bob has said that he wants a quick decision from Walasek (ironic when you think how long we've been draggiing our heels).....

Anyone got any idea of what Bobs definition of a quick decision might be?

We haven't got a meeting now until Belle Vue on July 20th, but if Walasek leaves us dangling and then lets us down at the last minute we'll be stuffed again.

Fully agree with all of the comments made so far I am in no doubt that the day or two before the Belle Vue meeting Trevor will be scratching around for another useless guest, What would be useful is to contact a decent guest now to sound him out just in case but I guess thats asking too much from Trevor to think ahead

I would hope that if Bob doesn't get his answer today that rather than hang on in hope he tells Walasek to go take a jump and turns his attention to the ex Smederna riders before they get snapped up elsewhere.

I would hope hes already made tentative approaches just in case his main objective says no.

Most of the Smedederna riders will get snapped up during the next Swedish transfer window so I dont really see that much point in thinking they would change their minds about racing in the UK.

It will be more a case of trying to find a rider who fits that wants to ride in the UK for the rest of the season that needs to be looked at..

This kinda thing is rumored to happen in the swedish transfer window

Jagus to Piraterna

Max to ??  doubtfull for the UK but is in good form in Sweden

Zorro to Indianerna

Buczkowski i doubt he gets a new ride in Sweden

Vaculik shouldnt have any problems to find a new club.

So I cant see it will make a great deal of difference to any of these riders coming into UK speedway.

But its always worth asking but not pinning hopes to high...

Just my thoughts

Don't worry guys. There is a rider out there who fits the bill perfectly. A cloak of secrecy over Arlington prevents me revealing his name.  But I can whisper that his initials are R/R.
