The band, Brighton based, The Move-Ons will commence playing at 6pm, the same time that the gates open, and will continue to play till the engines warm up.

First race 7.30 pm

Fireworks finale.

I have been told that the first race will be at 7.38pm...................
Got to allow for the usual chit chat from the sky presenters - state of the track etc.

Yes so do I.  I am looking forward to this and I will bet that if it is rained off it will be re-run on a Monday as Sky are involved.

Weather forcast.  see front page right hand side.

Just seen the forecast on Meridian for Saturday, very heavy rain, thunder and lightning. Sometimes this corner of Sussex does miss the bad weather, if not is their any provision for which day it will be rerun if it is rained off.  Question

Forecast on Metcheck looks very good for Saturday.  Maybe it is the start of the " Barbecue Summer" that someone promised us a while back.  what happened to that?

With Stead now in place of Zagar I don't think Swindle look as good, Poole have a very good chance I think, as much as it pains me to say so!

In the past this meeting has been ruined by countless last minute drop outs.

Lets hope that Zagar is the only one this year.

With him missing I revise my prediction to a Wolves/Coventry final with Poole and Eagles as dark horses.

To be honest as long as it is a good meeting, and nobody gets hurt, I am not worried who wins the meeting. It is possible we could get other drop-outs, depends on whether any riders get injured. Would love to see the Eagles pairing doing well, good luck to Davy and Lewis. Rolling Eyes  Wink

Nothing wrong with hedging your bets!

But if you really want me to stick my neck out...

1st Wolves
2nd Coventry

Beaten semi finalists: Eagles and Poole

Is that better.... Wink

I have been told its 23 races - 20 heats, two semi finals and a final, although I had orignally been told it was 22 heats two semis and a final although if you look at the super sevens page its 18 heats two semi finals and a final.I was told that the first race is starting at 7.38 and that Sky are only transmitting until 10pm.
So it could be one of the three or something completely different!

will be 9 pairs obviously , but each pair willnot meet all the other pairs otherwise they will all have 8 rides . think 5 is the limit . but missing riding against certain pairs , or riding against others would be an advantage . so the system is flawed . in the premier  league the final
has been whittled down by having previous rounds to probably 6 , then each pair have five rides and meet all the other finalists . who drew this formula up --- noddy in toyland or the bspa  Shocked  Confused  Razz  Wink

I have looked at BSPA and the Super7 site says

LAKESIDE: (Lee Richardson, Jonas Davidsson
WOLVERHAMPTON: (Freddie Lindgren, Peter Karlsson
COVENTRY: (Chris Harris, Edward Kennett)
BELLE VUE: (Krzysztof Kasprzak, Morten Risager)
PETERBOROUGH: (Niels K Iversen, Kenneth Bjerre
POOLE: (Hans Andersen, Chris Holder)
EASTBOURNE: (Lewis Bridger, Davey Watt)
IPSWICH: (Scott Nicholls, Danny King)
SWINDON: (Leigh Adams, Simon Stead)

MEETING FORMAT  9 pairings (teams) race over 18 qualifying races (each pair has four rides each).
Top four scoring teams will contest in two semi-finals.
The two winning semi-finalists will then compete in the Grand Final.
The winners of the Grand Final are declared 2009 Elite League Pairs Champions.
Points scoring system: 4-3-2-0

Actual riding order is still a secret  Laughing
